  1. All protein must be frozen. You are not going to get "fresh" fish on a mainstream cruise ship.
  2. Last time we did it, we did SFO-ORD, spent the night in a hotel at the airport (Hilton) and flew early the next morning...a 6am flight, and went straight to the ship. I don't usually recommend going straight to boarding, but it worked for us that trip. This was in April, and Chicago was freezing.
  3. Not from my experience. The whales get thin in early April, and most of the vendors on Maui turn their focus away from whales around then. Yes, they still do their snorkeling tours and non-whale tours.
  4. Most whale watch vendors shut down their whale watch operations early in April. The poster you responded to is going in late April. I agree with the thoughts on Road to Hana.
  5. There are dozens of threads here on Ft Lauderdale hotels. You will notice the focus on the 17th Street area, which meets your needs. A little reading around the board would also reveal then common recommendation for www.sunny.org, a listing of all hotels in Ft Lauderdale and their amenities.
  6. Of course, that trip at that time will put you right into the crush of people getting off ships in Ft Lauderdale. You will make it, but its going to be stressful. Did you book this flight before you knew the logistics?
  7. Lots of info on the Disney board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/100-disney-cruise-line/
  8. The timing of port transfers is always based on demand. As most flights from the US land in Sydney first thing in the morning, Princess will have transportation waiting for you. No, you will not have to wait for hours. You might get a tour of Sydney so you arrive at the port close to when boarding begins. Immigration, claiming your bags and Customs might take an hour. But why arrive day of sailing? First of all, it's risky. Given the length of the flight, there are crew rest restrictions that can cancel your flight pretty easily. Plus Sydney is a beautiful city...spend a couple of days seeing, getting over jet lag, and making sure your bags make it with you.
  9. A round trip out of the same US port only needs to stop at a foreign port, so Victoria qualifies. A ONE WAY cruise, from one US port to another US port must stop at a DISTANT foreign port. In simple terms a " distant " foreign port is a port not within North America or the Caribbean. Note, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are considered part of South America. It's just the rules.
  10. Welcome to Cruise Critic! I was a "fire slayer" for 35 years. For all the RCI info you will ever need, check the portion of Cruise Critic devoted to RCI, located here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/51-royal-caribbean-international/
  11. They move around taking care of business. Some bond to certain cabanas, as happened to us, as we didn't particularly like the personality of one of the attendants on our B2B KDam cruises. They definitely work together. If the Pinnacle class cabanas are all full, the 3 can be pretty busy, particularly around lunch time.
  12. Yes, there is 3 for the Pinnacle class ships. But two for the smaller ships.
  13. Tipping is a personal choice, totally up to you. We tip at the end of the cruise. For a cruise of that length, have seen people tip $30 to 70 per attendant (there should be 2 assigned). Workers are assigned for the cruise.
  14. The demand to fly has been extremely high, and the supply has not increased...in fact it has decreased some. No need to discount.
  15. Thinking about this question. Most of the "Glacier sailing" is done by 6pm so you shouldn't have an issue. Does your schedule indicate differently?
  16. Now that the Mods have moved this to the Italy board, take a look around. There are many threads here on hotels. There a few options on transport...many discussions on that as well. You will need to decide your mobility and ability to lug your suitcases and select the transport method that works for you.
  17. Agree...but OP was asking about getting TO the airport.
  18. Depends on the ship, but generally the biggest tables are 10. I can't absolutely say they can't do a special table for 16, but that is definitely something to arrange on board. I would do it on one of your sea days.
  19. As mentioned, looking at the Italy board would be a good idea. Getting a lay of the land by looking at Google Maps or similar would also be a good idea. Rome is 30 to 40 minutes drive East of the airport. The port is an hour north of of the airport, and 75 or so minutes northwest of Rome. So "easy to get to the port " is a very challenging concept.
  20. Holland America will have them on their Koningsdam ship.
  21. "uncharge"? Extra charge is what you meant.
