  1. Been following this thread. I hope that those affected have been treated like valued customers.
  2. Don Henley- album: End of the Innocence Song- If dirt were dollars great album
  3. It was, 1987! You might be the only one that had a clue!.
  4. Back home now. Had a great trip. We had dinner with the Captain very early in the cruise. He was cordial and certainly competent. My comment about the cow, meant that he knew, I knew, he knew they were going to cancel upcoming coming voyages but obviously could not tell me. Hence, the statement. I apologize if that blew anyone's "skirt up".
  5. We’re on the Whisper now. I asked the Captain last week if they were going to make the dry dock. He looked at me like a cow looking at a passing train. I can sympathize with those that have been cancelled and believe that the decision could have been made much earlier. But, talking to the crew; most will disembark in Singapore with no further wages when they were going to be on until Athens. Those that remain on board will be on reduced wages as there are no passengers on board. They will suffer to a much larger degree than Silversea passengers.
  6. Maybe this forum should have a name change; Chow Critic😀
  7. DW’s comment reminded me of a scene from Crocodile Dundee! The Nurse’s comment just illustrates that we live in a world of the perpetually aggrieved 😀

    Ear Plugs !!

I never leave home without them. Also travel with a “white noise” device.
  9. The early luggage deal may have been an over zealous butler who wanted to get a head start on change over day. I would like to know if this happened to other passengers.
  10. We were on with JP in June, cabin 535 and we disembark tomorrow after 18 days in 537. We have had no issues. There are passengers that have been on for 42 days since Greenland. We have heard no complaints.
  11. We’re on the Wind now and have not experienced any sewage issues. That would be hellish!
  12. Yes, it’s good to be back. A lot of the crew are still on from the Helsinki-Hamburg voyage. We even have the same suite attendant and butler who already had our preferences!
  13. We are on the Wind now. Thought the $90 boot rental with a $100 deposit was high. We purchased boots off Amazon for $60. Yes, they do take up space in the luggage but we were still were under 50lbs!
  14. Keith and his daughters. One day he’ll inherit everything
  15. Thanks. We’re looking forward to the voyage.
  16. Is the 100 day “free laundry” available on the Origin? Not a deal breaker, but we’ve become spoiled!
  17. This Silversea Voyage rates in our top five. We really enjoyed the off the “radar” stops that most people will never see! It was good to meet the regular posters. Despite a 7 hour layover in Heathrow, we were home yesterday by 6:00pm. Looking forward to Wind, Nome to Vancouver in September!
  18. We in the Greenwich Lounge at JFK with a 5 hour layover on Finnair. Arrival is 2:00 PM tomorrow!
  19. We’ll be on board and really looking forward to it!
  20. We also stayed at the Hilton Molino Stucky years ago. Agree that the location is much quieter. This was the view from our room. Unfortunately, that's not the case now!!!

    Civil Unrest

I would like to add that we were offered a pre cruise refund with the 5 nights in Lima. But opted for the full refund.
