Believe me it was. It was the best roast beef I have ever tasted. -

No pictures but lunch out was pate en croute, 65 day aged beef sirloin with the most amazing roast potatoes sitting in a Yorkshire pudding with veal jus, and lemon tart with meringue and sorbet. I don’t think I need to eat again until Tuesday (but probably will). -

Will they have a table big enough for us all? Perhaps the Captain’s table where we take turns to sit with the great Captain Kalos. -
Thanks for that. We will be on Aurora in November for our first post ‘you know what’ cruise and it is good to know that, at least last week, it was a good experience.

Are you still referring to the earth tremor last night or something else? As they are 90% pork and bamboo fibre is the 15th of 17 ingredients, I don’t think there is enough bamboo fibre to fill very much. Possibly in the skins. I have probably eaten them before and apart from developing black fur and white eyes, I don’t think it has done me any harm. -

They do say there may be further tremors on the way. I’m not sure they would qualify. -

Any relation to the rare Norwegian blue? Swedish green perhaps? 🤔 -
Maybe best to have home insurance and travel insurance for long holidays from companies using different underwriters so a cross check is more difficult in a claim situation. I presume their computers talk to each other though. I made a valid medical claim for a cancelled cruise last year and before making a payment covering the full cost, the claims company checked very thoroughly.

Good news for you. I can only presume there were 2 adjacent cabins that were not booked by anybody else in the grade they were looking to give you. Have a nice cruise.
-
It would be most unfair if people have booked a specific cabin on Select fare, with the no upgrade box ticked (as many do) were expected to move / be ‘upgraded’ because they have a family / friends linked group on a saver fare requesting multiple adjacent cabins. When saver cabins are allocated, it is unlikely that a block of cabins are all unallocated. There is only one way to ensure you get cabins together and that is to take the more expensive option and to book select and choose your cabins.

Give Times Radio a go, a bit more informal and varied than Radio 4 but still good coverage of real news. -
If that is aimed at me, please reread my post. I said that allowing people to pay £8 for breakfast is devaluing the perk, not the passenger’s experience as you have stated. My guess is that pricing of the select restaurant breakfast in determining the cost of a suite on a 14 night cruise is more than £112 (£8 x 14). Nowhere did I suggest that someone paying to fill up empty tables would spoil my experience, although if it caused a queue, pre booking through an app, using a pager and /or inferior service, I would not be happy. As it seems only to be a thing on the 2 ships in the fleet that I am not interested in travelling on, it won’t affect me so I will leave the conversation to others who might.
-
If that is the case, it is presumably limited to the large ships that actually have few suites (24 I think). However, as others have said, charging £8 per head, which is cheap in my opinion, devalues the perk that people are offered for booking the most expensive cabins. Even if it was bookable and numbers were strictly controlled, the experience is unlikely to be as special. Currently, suite passengers can turn up when they choose within the ‘opening hours’ knowing they will get a table and will be attended to straightaway. Small numbers means better, individual service and food that should be served hot is cooked to order and actually served hot (toast excepted!).

Nah, I’m not even slightly interested in acquiring rare baubles and trinkets. Well maybe a few.

Go for it, if only so we can read another award winning review.🥇🏅

I certainly would never dream of doing such a thing if I am ever on that stretch of road (or any other). -
6 months ago would have been a better time.

Probably much too early to restore the payment of dividends though?
