  1. The excursions are priced in sterling for U.K. passengers so no currency conversion for those. Any reminder gets converted to dollars for on board spend.
  2. They had one on our Infinity sailing in April, though cannot remember which Spanish port it was, possibly Valencia.
  3. We could go up to the top deck but the bar was not open until boarding time I think. Food was also provided then on the top deck. They gave us a drink or two whilst we waited in the lounge - orange juice or water. We did leave our luggage on the ship and went up to the port entrance and wandered around the town for a bit. We were wary of doing this but in fact felt fine and not unsafe. The South African couple had a meal in the port terminal which had some shops, bars and restaurants. We were one of the last group to leave Viking and Iberostar were very accommodating of our early arrival.
  4. Ok, many thanks, we hopefully will not need to find out what the ‘local remedy’ is 🤞😂
  5. We did the same Viking and Iberostar- we got the Viking transfer to the port as the ship was anchored and required a tender to the dock and then an included bus to the port embarkation / departure point. We were then going to just wheel our cases ourselves to the Iberostar but a porter said he would take them, which was fine with us ( tip duly given) and we just followed him along to the Iberostar. We were (very) early for check in but they allowed us on board and we waited in the lounge on board the ship. Lorna and Ray went on a morning tour (complete with luggage) and joined the ship around the proposed boarding time. You will really enjoy the 7 day trip, we all said we wished we had booked the 7 days but it was an unknown entity when we did the trip. That’s what great about these reviews- you can benefit from those that have gone before you.
  6. Do share if you find out, we are sailing late October this year on the Ra
  7. Only fried bread in the buffet, and good it was too 😋
  8. This is for excursions cancelled whilst on board, namely the balloon excursion on the Nile cruise due to wind conditions. Maybe handled differently on Viking Ocean??
  9. I do agree that Viking does not handle credits like other cruise lines. We have prepaid for an excursion but understand that if it is cancelled the money goes to your on board account rather than returned to the means of payment 😞. You then have to claim the money back from Viking when the cruise has finished, or whatever is left if you haven’t used some on board, and apparently it takes some time in being returned to you!
  10. Yes, we literally passed through the muster station on the way to the lift, stopped by the crew member who ticked our names off.
  11. We actually called into the muster station on the way to the aft lifts and our room. We only had minimal hand luggage so not a problem.
  12. Yes, just come off Infinity and there is a wall of mirrors opposite the bed.
  13. No talks on our 10 night Infinity Mediterranean cruise - no podium speakers or even port talks! The only one was one given by the captain which was brilliant as he has such a wicked sense of humour.
  14. We never did get notice about the Wellness check, nor could find it on the app. Answered the questions at the terminal when we checked in, took all of one minute!
  15. Loving the trip report Lorna 😊 (we are the U.K. couple who did the additional Amazon trip with the OP). The reason for having to walk through the local boat was the height of the dock - it was too high to step up off the tenders, so the local boat was used to ‘bridge’ the height difference. We had a small step up from the tender to the local boat, then walked to the other side of the boat, then another couple of steps to the dock!
  16. Just returned from a cruise on Infinity. The quality of the evening meal in the MDR had deteriorated in my opinion but was pleasantly surprised with the buffet given all the discussions, albeit breakfast and lunch only. The food in the MDR did not live up to X’s Modern Luxury tag line. The dishes, especially the entrees were uninspiring and often lacked flavour. The deserts often bore no resemblance to their description, and at times even the Crème Brûlée was off! Considering the current pricing of cruises, I feel the food is substandard.
  17. Currently on Infinity; room OK no issues with AC etc. MDR disappointing - meals gone downhill, service mixed. Public areas Ok, though very dark in some areas (Rendevous). Crew great. Internet dreadful - virtually no reception in cabin, have to go to public areas to be able to use it. Modern Luxury it is not. We are regular X cruisers so are enjoying the cruise, but feel if Infinity was the first Celebrity sailing for someone, it does not give a brilliant first impression 🤷‍♀️.
  18. Ah but there is good plagiarism software to counteract that 😊😊😂
  19. I remember using the U.K. version for some of my studies, especially the books I found boring 😂
  20. Can still walk across the runway - have to for the border. Visiting there in a few weeks time on another cruise, second visit to spend time there but have flown in and out a few times when visiting Andalusia,
  21. Not unheard of on other cruise lines. I think the issue is the cruise lines cannot ask for proof of emotional support and so are almost ‘forced’ into accepting them. Unacceptable for them to sit on chairs etc.
  22. We haven’t done the Viking tours but have visited Split a few times. Walking tour - fairly easy, ground generally flat but cobbled in parts. Some steps up and down along the way. Krka waterfalls - if you do the trail you need good mobility as many steps up and down.
