If I'm in a Retreat suite, can I have AquaClass friends over?
Shiba_Lover replied to marne-c's topic in Celebrity Cruises
THIS!!!! A Thousand times this! If someone wants to have the upgraded amenities - pay for them. Please people, stop "sneaking in" friends and family members. The areas are built to handle a specific number of people, and Celebrity has available some number of passes that can be purchased for family/friends traveling with you. Once those are purchased, that's it. If everyone starts "sneaking in" people - those of us who have paid for the amenities cannot access them due to overcrowding. Yeah, I get it, you want to be with your friends/family. But enjoy the areas everyone can access together. -
Thanks. So looking forwards will be OK I think (the cabins that jut out a bit won't be in the way). Straight out will be good, but looking back, we may be blocked by the MC. I think my other option is a sunset SS or a MC I guess. Did you have any issue with a MC room? Any reason to NOT book one of these? How was the view from it? Blocked by the orange sides?

Looking to book on the starboard side on Ascent. For those that have sailed on one of the other E series ships on starboard side - is the view blocked by the magic carpet? (Specifically want starboard for this sailing, I'm aware the magic carpet would not be an issue on port side) I am looking at sky suites (around 10156 / 10154 / 10152 area) on Ascent. This is the same layout as Beyond or Apex. Is it better to be behind it? Thanks!

Mah Jong Sets On Board - Celebrity Summit - American Mah Jong
Shiba_Lover replied to hurwitz5's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Cannot speak to summit. Apex had a set. Regardless, I would not count on all pieces being in the set, so would count on bringing your own. -
I've done a bit of research on these places as we are going on 2024. If scenery is your goal, choose the first listing.

What are the disadvantages to booking at the last minute?
Shiba_Lover replied to dingdong70's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I think a last minute surprise cruise works be such a great gift, that even if you missed out on and excursion or specialty restaurant, that would not matter. The main focus would be the cruise and spending time with your mom. So much else to do on the ship and in the ports. What a great surprise! -
Maybe sometimes live from the Summit - Miami to New York

Best wishes for you mom. Enjoy your cruise -
Every cruise I have ever done has had someone swimming in the outdoor pool, despite how bundled up I was as I did my walk on the walking track. So - you can always give it a try. As you say - you can't predict the weather, or one's tolerance for the water temperature. Plan to swim and you can always use the indoor pool if all else fails.

When is the cruise? Did you make a full payment or just a deposit? If just a deposit, it sounds like maybe the subsequent payments were not made on schedule? Did the TA advise you of the payment due schedule?

If you have a real need to lock it up, put it in your suitcase and lock the suitcase.

I've always had a suite concierge reach out to me about a week prior to sailing and have never sailed in an upper suite. Only sky suite and celebrity suites. I think it has been shore side concierge, but they got the requests to ship side, and everything has been handled. Last sailing was in February in a CS and I just asked for a few extra hangers in the closet and a few extra pillows. I think they put every hanger on the ship in our closet.

We showed up at our appointed boarding time, and due to some issue, they were holding boarding. Everyone had to wait. Nobody ate that I recall but there was food. Pretty much everyone had coffee or a drink since we had to wait. But, yes I agree. If we did not have to wait , I don't think we would have actually sat there to have coffee. But if someone has not eaten and were wanting food, it is there.

Eating in Main Dining Room with an Aqua cabin
Shiba_Lover replied to Sunset329's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I can also add that I travel in the Retreat suites, and on the last trip on Apex - have eaten in the MDR twice. Why - well, I just felt like trying it out. I had never eaten in the MDR before so wanted to try it. They had 4 different rooms, and just thought I would give it a try. After multiple cruises on all the classes of ships, I realized I had never eaten in the MDR. I peaked in, and the rooms were really pretty. So I thought - hey - let's check it out. Service and food were good. No issues or problems. I also spoke with some other Retreat guests who had friends in an infinite veranda cabin - and they were going to the MDR to dine with them each night. So there are reasons people may choose to go to the MDR, even if just to check out the room itself. -

no points for me this time. I did call the Captain;s Club. Spoke to a really nice lady who "tried" to help - for 45 minutes. She went so far as to download all of my activity and send it to me. She kept insisting I had March points for a Spain webinar and a survey. I said, no - just a quiz. Turns out when I got the file she sent - it was March 2022. Well, at least she was nice and tried to help. She said she would "escalate and send an email about this". Oh well, at least it's only 1 point. 🤪

I called and asked about the itenerary and the rep I got told me the itenerary was exactly the same, only change was the ship retuning to Buenos Aires. I told her I did not think that was actually possible. She insisted it was. 🤣 I again said I did not think so, but she said yes, that's the only change. It has all the same ports. It just returns to Buenos Aires. So I said ok, thanks and let it go. Unless that ship goes a lot faster than I think it does..... 😵💫😭😂
