  1. yes - they seem to be limiting their itineraries and raising the prices 😞
  2. OK - so here's how it works - at the end of this month (August) - Celebrity sends an email to everyone with a code. When you get the code - you call in to apply the code to your sailing. Now why they could not just put this info in the email is a bit odd. Seems it would save people time in trying to figure it out.
  3. This one was interesting. India / Sri Lanka / Singapore 14 nights. I used to work in India and Singapore. But my husband has never been.
  4. I booked one because I liked an itinerary and could not find similar except a (21 night on Oceania, which was a bit too long) - but it was not applied. I asked about it and they told me to send them the email - which I did. Still not applied. Guess I will need to call (AGAIN)l.
  5. For those that were on the cancelled Equinox sailings due to the ship being redeployed from South America to the Caribbean... The email we got implied we were getting OBC (200 or 400 based on cabin). Has anyone received any follow up on this explaining how we would apply this to a booking?
  6. If you use them, be wary of letting them book with American. American has some system glitches that make their tickets non refundable/non changeable outside their own system. So even if you ask for flexible tickets, you may not get them.
  7. reminds me of one of these places that I would drive by everyday -- I think they were going out of business in the final days for years (not this exact place - this is some random photo I snagged on the web)
  8. I spent a good portion of today looking into Oceania and Silversea as an alternative to an option to replace what I was going to book on Celebrity for my recently cancelled 2025 Equinox South America. We thought we would do a 2025 India-Sri Lanka-Thailand in place of that (complete switch I know). This was booked as a "Future cruise onboard booking" so Celebrity said I could actually shift this to another sailing at no fee and keep my $200 deposit for a suite + additional OBC when I called them on it. So I compared similar itineraries on Oceania and Silversea. I was surprised that pricing (per night) in categories equivalent to sky suite was very similar. I was fully expecting Celebrity to be much overpriced. Although, when I factor in that Oceania and Silversea have some additional dining options and some basic shore excursions included - it may come out ahead. I am actually considering the Oceania one (if I can convince husband) - but it has a 3 night stop in Myanmar - that seems really odd. Why 3 nights in Myanmar???? I guess they need to make some timing work for the ports (unless Myanmar has sooo much to do).
  9. Are you valuing attracting new clients over maintaining loyal clients? (Don't really need this answered actually - I think we already know the answer)
  10. Yeah - this is the oddest request from him. He is the world's most sociable person. He engages in conversations with the people in all the bars and at the tables next to us in Luminae (or wherever else we go). But the actual thought of being forced AT a table with people - it's a hard no. The little 6-inch space between is fine though 🤷‍♀️
  11. I was just looking at silverse yesterday. Husband prefers table for 2. Is that available or is it only large tables? This is one of his big reasons for sticking with Luminae.
  12. Also - you may want to put your phone on wifi calling preferred. Your granddaughter can show you how.
  13. I think they are saving money by cancelling the great deals I had booked, and forcing me to rebook (if I want to) at a higher price with less OBC 😂
  14. You might check your email. Many of us scheduled on Equinox in early 2025 already received emails saying we are cancelled.
  15. Not replying to anyone specific (sorry mac_tlc - not pointing out you) -- but Celebrity also has Labadee as a private destination, which they will visit on some of these itineraries. So, if not CoCo Cay, then Labadee.
  16. I'm on the phone with them now, and they said the SA Equinox booking i have is cancelled. Currently on hold as they look into what the compensation is or if it is just a cancel/refund. I was also surprised there was no mention of what was happening to the SA bookings this morning.
  17. Thanks for taking the time to do a very detailed review. Great information to know. That is also one of my favorite parts of Celebrity - I really do love the crew. I'm finally at the point where I am just starting to think of other lines but still just can't pull the trigger.
  18. Oh great. I'm booked on Equinox in Feb for south America and it already has a significant schedule change once. Guess we'll see what happens.
  19. That's the whole gamble of guarantee. You are getting a cabin at a lower price and the risk is that you may wind up with a less desirable cabin assignment. It's the tradeoff you must be willing to take to save some money.
  20. Anybody done this excursion? This would be out of Livorno. It sounds interesting. Trying to use up some OBC.
  21. We enjoy this one. If you watch in the cruise planner, they often have it discounted around 10% to pre-purchase.
  22. TA rates are not available that often. TAs cannot get a TA rate for any sailing / any cabin. The rates are very specific itineraries and limited cabins, have to be requested as opposed to booked, etc.
  23. I'm going to do a wait and see on this one. Next cruise is on the Flora, so I don't expect much impact (really different type of cruise). Then I have 3 more booked all in sky suites. After the Galapagos one, the next is not until June 2024. Depending on how this "team" thing shakes out, I will see. If they take away other things, like the Retreat lounge and Luminae, I may be out. We did not really care for the CS, and CS or SS prices are about as high as I am willing to pay on Celebrity. I am thinking the "Team" in theory, could work - if they had the correct number of butlers, and a good customer relationship management system in place, they could run this properly. I think what will harm them is it sounds like they have let too many people go. I don't see how they could manage it without the correct number of butler personnel. We never really utilized their services other than having some coffee, that was of course at a peak time (morning) and we really never had to wait long. Maybe the "team" is simply regular room service?
