    excursions

Yes. They should have one to the Everglades, a City Tour that stops at Little Havana and Bayside Marketplace for around 45 min each and possibly one to Dolphin Mall. They all drop you at the airport. I believe your flight needs to be after 2:00 or 3:00 PM to book those. You may have to call or book those once onboard. They aren’t always listed online.
  2. I agree. I wouldn’t lose 1/2 my payment because I might be disappointed based on what others wrote. I was hesitant about MSC for my first cruise with them 2 years ago, but it was great and I have been on 6 more cruises with MSC since then and have enjoyed them.
  3. Are you entering 1 or 2 as the quantity? You would only need to enter 1 as the number if couples packages to cover both of you. If both of your names are options when purchasing, just choose one name, but it should cover 2 people.
  4. Sadly, issues with the MSC website & app are common. This issue is new for me. Once on board their ships, most things have been good. But the pre-cruise experience, including the website, app and guest services have been by far the worst of any cruise line I have dealt with over the last 30+ years.
  5. There seems to be an issue with the website for many. I have multiple cruises booked and am having the same issue as you for all of them. I cannot log into the website with Log On ID and Password, but can log on to one cruise at a time with the Booking # & my name. However, I can only book excursions, drink packages, etc., I cannot make pay, see the cruise details, etc. Very frustrating.
  6. I would guess it’s a way to maximize revenue and get people to spend more. It’s like a Buy One Get One 50% Off Sale that retail stores use. Maybe two people are traveling together and only one is really interested in the thermal spa, but when they see it’s only 50% more for both to get the package, they decide it’s worth it. They feel like they got a deal and MSC gets more money. But if you are traveling solo, it feels like you are getting cheated. MSC appears to be discouraging, or at least penalizing, solo cruisers now compared to the last couple of years. They limit the number of solo bookings on most cruises, have increased the solo supplement from 0-20% a year ago to 50-70% now in many cases and now are charging a premium for solo thermal spa packages.
  7. If from the US, usually coffee, tea and tap water in the dining rooms. Coffee, tea and sometimes lemonade and / or fruit punch in the buffet.
  8. Thanks for the update. I submitted a request to the email you provided yesterday , but haven’t gotten a reply and still can’t log in. Hopefully mine will be corrected in a few days as well.
  9. They have pulled most, if not all, of the Cruises through May that are going through the Suez Canal. I am supposed to be on the Opera from Dubai to Rome, and it has been pulled as well. There are reports on the social media group that MSC is working on new itineraries for those ships. Hopefully they will have something in the next few weeks as many of us already have airfare booked and will need to make changes.
  10. There isn’t a separate comedy club on the MSC ships in the US, that I have seen. There has been a comedy act (comedian, comedy magician, comedic singer, etc) in the main theater at least once on most of the 7-10 day MSC cruises I have taken in the past 2 years. There was a comedian / mime, in addition to singers & a magician, in the Cabaret lounge, on the Seashore in October.
  11. Thanks for the update. I doubt seriously that it has anything to do with the voyager numbers. Based on the other postings, it seems to be an issue when you check in on the app, which I did for my February 1 cruise. That’s when the problem started on the website. I’m hoping that after my cruise in February is finished, that maybe things will start working again for me on the website. My next cruise after the ones in February is in April on the Opera, which does not use the app. So I will definitely need access to the website to check in.
  12. Interesting. I don’t have an iPad, but will try my older Amazon Fire tablet. I only get a Back button as an option on the error, no OK option.
  13. Thanks. It’s probably not a good sign that some have no issues and others do. Their IT department likely won’t be too concerned if everyone isn’t affected.
  14. I have tried using Safari & Chrome on my phone and Chrome & Edge on my laptop and all have the same issue. I know I can pay by calling, but having a customer service rep do anything to a booking has resulted in a few bad issues for me in the past.
  15. Is anyone else having issues logging into the MSC Website using their Log On & Password? I get an error message that I am on the wrong country website, even though I am I in the US using the MSC USA website. This issue started after whatever updates they did over the New Years holiday. I can get in using the Confirmation Number and my name, but then it only shows options to add to my cruise, such as Drink Packages, Excursions, etc. No options to check in, make a payment, see prior items purchased, passenger details, etc. MSC website Customer Service just says to try different browsers and see if they work (they don’t).
  16. MSC seems to limit the number of solo cabins on each cruise. The best availability is to book 6 months or more into the future and / or to book longer cruises, especially Grand Voyages (Repositioning cruises). Here is a link to a previous post on this issue:
  17. There have been several issues with the website and app in the past week. I have five cruises booked currently and sometimes can access excursions or other items, then later the same day, can’t access anything. You know what excursion you want, I believe you can call customer service and book it. I generally try not to call customer service with MSC for anything, but it might be worth it to book the excursion you want and get the pre-cruise discount. It will likely be higher to book once you were on board.
  18. As Georgia_Peaches said, Uber / Lyft / Taxi will be faster and cheaper (unless you are solo). If you still want to book with MSC, you must call them or book at the Excursion Desk once on board.
  19. They are still in negotiations regarding a new pier. It looks like 2025 at the earliest and with typical construction delays, I would not be surprised if it was 2026. https://www.galvnews.com/news/msc-cruises-port-approaching-final-contract-on-fourth-terminal/article_364c411d-c9a9-515c-b8a2-0275d850dde7.html MSC does still do status match: https://www.msccruisesusa.com/manage-booking/msc-voyagers-club/status-match
  20. The Krazy Lobster is a good option if you want pay as you go. Five dollar bucket of 5 small Coronas ($ 10 for 5 regular size) in May. The food was good and reasonably priced as well.
  21. I did not need to do anything. MSC refunded the difference to my credit card once I boarded the cruise.
  22. From my experience with MSC, the taxes / port charges are an estimate at the time of booking and final payment. On three of my cruises, the actual taxes / port charges were lower than estimated by the time of the cruise and I received a refund to my original form of payment once the cruise sailed.
  23. The Seashore & Seascape have been my least favorite ships of the MSC cruises I have taken. Both felt much more crowded and cramped than the Meraviglia or Divina (my favorite). It feels like they tried to add more revenue making options (restaurants, bars, shops, etc.) and cut down on open public areas that generated no revenue. I understand the reasons, but it may not pay off in the long run if people have a poor experience and don’t return.
  24. Great review and glad you enjoyed it. I have not tried Yacht Club yet, but have enjoyed my cruises on MSC. It offers a great value and enjoyable experience (most of the time).
  25. In May the carry on checked bag area on Divina was on the Lido Deck just as you entered the doors to the buffet.
