  1. As noted in Rich's post above, the price point is also a huge factor. There seems to be a disconnect between the price X thinks they can command versus offerings that by reports pale in comparison to what they used to be. Why sail a suite on X when an actual luxury line is less expensive? Or why NOT sail another mainstream line for less if X has deflated their relative value?
  2. Can Nord or the others give me remote access to home? I use OpenVPN now when I'm away to be able to access my home network (files, cameras, and whatnot). Doesn't work on Celebrity with the crummy internet (pre-starlink), but did on Princess.
  3. Unless your itinerary has a tender port, it stays up top the entire time.
  4. Absolutely not. The ONLY reason to do this is because you're cheap and are willing to screw over those people who make your cruise what it is. If any part of that gratuity is shared with someone behind the scenes that you never interact with, you're taking money from their pocket.
  5. 16 for the price of 1! πŸ™‚
  6. It counts as 2. The 15 is more of a guideline than a rule. Had a discussion with our regular bartender about it. It's the bartender's discretion if they want to serve you past that. He chose to use that discretion wisely one evening at the Outrigger when he was being berated by a woman who was insisting that she had not hit her 15 (even though she was throwing around "I think" and "maybe" while disputing her tally).
  7. This seems to be a theme with X since the restart. Over-promise and under-deliver. Abysmal in terms of wine is more subjective though. Do they not have the advertised offerings of premium wines? Didn't see significant issues there in 4 post-covid sailings.
  8. We frequent Outrigger bar and got to know the bartenders over our sailing, and tipped them for their good service (not expecting a heavy pour). Never saw them do anything other than measure spirits with what appeared to be a 1.5oz stainless steel jigger. As DCThunder said, there was the occasional 'bottom of the bottle' bonus pour, but that's it. Worst case would be they're a little rushed and don't fill the jigger quite to the top. This was a switch from what I've been used to on Celebrity where I never saw a bartender measure a drink, and are pretty generous. In comparison, there's less alcohol in a Princess drink, but you can always order a double, including in your margarita or whatever.
  9. We saw people playing every morning last month. Didn't notice any advertised times.
  10. Midport garage/Palm garage. $15/day last I checked. Just a walk across the street. No need to wait for a shuttle. I don't think the offsite options save much, if anything for their relative inconvenience.
  11. 10 of you can be seated at a single table. That shouldn't be an issue. If you prefer to dine early there is likely to be one available. The good thing is that even with anytime dining, they assume you're a creature of habit, so they hold the same table for you every day at that time. If you want to 100% be sure, you can let them know and make reservations for the same time every night. We had 19 of us and made reservations once, but ended up at the same 2 tables every night, regardless of whether some dined elsewhere.
  12. Decoy IS a ~$16 bottle though. $15-20 seems to be the retail per-bottle range they target for the premium package.
  13. Precisely the reason for this thread. What is the trend in responses from X? As more people contact them to express their displeasure over changes, it's likely that the talking points given to the call center people may change. When it starts out, the cognitive bias of the execs will have them continuing to pat themselves on the back for a job well done as they dismiss the small number of comments. As time goes on, it becomes more difficult to ignore data that is contrary to what you would like.
  14. Prime franks? So like all beef with no lips, snouts, or udders? That's some Costco quality stuff right there!
  15. Omg, that reads like a Celebrity-paid infomercial script. I guess people must believe that Daniel Boulud is in the galley, blessing their food before it's served.
  16. Where are does your cruise go? Generally you should be fine. I bring pseudosphedrine, dextromethorphan, dyphenhydramine-hcl, Flonase, zyrtec, acetaminophen, ibuprofen... Those should all be ok on the ship, but some are restricted (illegal... don't even think about bringing then in) in some countries
  17. As do a lot of people if posts on CC are believed to be at all representative. Often times, the price difference could pay for a good number of specialty restaurants. On the 5n Summit we were eyeing, Aqua was $300 more than a sunset veranda. $60/night buys some specialty to go with a couple/few MDR meals
  18. Agreed, but I'm not sure that applies to everyone, or everyone that posts here.
  19. I have a feeling that a decent number of suite guests wouldn't like an all-suite ship. The exclusivity of being in a suite seems to be important to some people.
  20. I hadn't heard about the landslide. Thanks for that. One of our favorites is to walk from town up to the battery and follow the cliff path to Fermain Bay.
  21. Exactly what I was thinking. "what the heck is the Premium Large Ship segment". Sounds like something someone made up in order to sell the nonsense on a chart in their ppt presentation.
