  1. Ship: Mardi Gras for it's amazing dual-purpose atrium and new "wow" factor Food: Mardi Gras for the many fantastic new offerings like Shaq's chicken (sure to be a fave with the kids), shawarma, gourmet hot dog stand and much more... Ports: Magic HANDS DOWN Good luck deciding!
  2. I have a casino offer where the family harbor cabin (deck 4) is a better deal than a regular cabin (deck 8). Ignoring "which ship?", I want to know - does the bacon never go on bacation at family harbor? TIA. I'm thinking of playing robin hood and taking the whole tray of bacon up to lido on bacation day. 😁 🏴‍☠️
  3. I didn't see anything in the post about sugar, and it seems very unlikely a Carnival bartender (and especially a supervisor) would make a mojito without simple syrup, don't you think? I think it's more likely the poster mistakenly thought simple syrup went in mojitos, or maybe they make them that way where he frequents.
  4. Did anyone notice the Banksy original on the wall in Venice? The tour guide said it was done with permission and under agreed secrecy from midnight to 4am one day earlier this year.
  5. As a shareholder, I give them credit for taking additional painful steps to try to avoid bankruptcy. As a cruiser, I love Carnival and just hope the old Warren Buffet mantra "buy what you know" works out. I bought a bunch in the $8's during covid but I sure bought a bunch in the $20's and $30's at previous dips.
  6. Just goes to show beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some folks like simple syrup in their mojitos, I LOVE the Mardi Gras. In fact it's the ONLY ship I sail just for the ship. Playing Heads-up Hold'em while gazing out the huge floor to ceiling windows at the ocean, enjoying upgraded free food at dinner (anytime dining only), and so many great places to eat, most free (Shaq's chicken, Shawarma, gourmet hot dog stand, etc.) and pay (Rudi's!)...
  7. "highroller" 😃😄😆😅😂🤣 I bet with red chips and put my pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us, Emperor "black chip" Mondello. 😁 🏴‍☠️
  8. I'm thinking of the best mojitos I've ever had and they were the opposite of syrupy. They were subtly fizzy, which compliments the mint beautifully. If you cruise to San Juan, stop by "Mojitos" and have an excellent mojito (they also have fresh fish simply grilled which is great).
  9. I didn't think mojitos were made with simple syrup either. A Google search turned up the original mojitos, from Cuba, were made with five ingredients and simple syrup is not among them. The Real Mojito Recipe (with Video) (allrecipes.com)
  10. My cruise was Rome to Rome and it looks like Larry is more interested in the "Rome to Rio" variety. Sorry I can't help but Larry you could find a bunch of transatlantic threads just by using the search feature here, on "transatlantic" and I bet the answer is in one or more of them...
  11. What's the next one? I'm doing my first B2B on the Mardi Gras, beginning February 4. Thanks for sharing all the photos and narratives of your trip, I really enjoyed them. Was being selected for Deal or No Deal the highlight?
  12. So happy you got to play and the photos and the way you told the story with them was FREAKING AWESOME! I agree you should have taken the $171, we all would but it's not the same when YOU'RE on the clock! Enjoy the $20 anyway!!!
  13. Noooooo!!!! Not the dreaded "To be continued!!", not NOW!!!!!! We want answers, mister! Hope you won a big prize!!!!!
  14. Karen looks like a Karen. Look at those folded arms and upside-down smile... "I'm ENTITLED!"
  15. I have the same mirror situation as you, my daughter plays slots and I play table games only. Points are not awarded at table games at all; rather you get "rated". That said, I always get free balcony offers with OBC plus casino cash while my daughter only gets free inside with casino cash offers.
  16. Did you get chills or anything considering you're cruising and visiting Titanic graves? I ask because over the course of the nine years I've been cruising, "Titanic" came up in conversation a handful of times and just one time did I feel creepy about it. I still wonder why "just that time", like maybe a relative of a survivor or victim was on the ship with me?
  17. Caesar salad, but they don't broadcast that it's available. You have to ask for it. I don't know what other possibilities there may be because if I'm in that line I'm usually CRAVING pizza.
  18. As Cramer would say BUY BUY BUY! It's more likely that Carnival would file for bankruptcy (reorg) than for the stock to go to zero. The price of a stock is the last transaction price and who would sell shares at zero? In all seriousness, I had Lehman shares when it went bankrupt and although the stock was "worthless" I waited four years with a strange ticker in my brokerage account (something like "LHM##") and wound up getting paid something like $17. If it goes to zero and you want to sell, I'll buy all of it.
  19. You, Sir Double Dare, are living on the edge! "Is there bacteria in glacier water? To find out, scientists collected snow and ice samples from 21 glaciers over the years 2010 to 2016. Each was melted and then tested to see what was in the water left behind. The researchers found 968 unique species of bacteria, 98% of which had never been seen before." 😱
  20. Thanks for posting all the pics of Messina. I saw more of it from your pics than the two times I was there (mainly because I had excursions both times).
  21. In this pic you can see the Pride docked in the small bay/port of Messina. In the distance, the entire mountainous region you see is the tip of the toe of the boot.
  22. Maturity is overrated. 😁 🏴‍☠️ "Why is the rum always gone?"
