Royal ship going to Bimini -- is this common?
island lady replied to Pellaz's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Currently on Serenade out of Tampa. She has been doing the Bimini run for this season for a few weeks now. Will be there in a couple of days. -
Your same post appears in the next page also. I think it was answered now.

Jewel of a baby born at sea

I was hearing a refrain in my head from the Boss's "Born in the USA". Ummmm... 😉 -

How does that work for citizenship of the baby? -
We are boarding Serenade for B2B on Saturday. Good to hear about the soot clean up on the sweet little ship, especially since we are in favorite little corner aft balcony 9256 for this one. 🙂

Wonder, unlike the other four sisters, does not have the web arm chairs in the Aqua theater. It is all wooden benches on that ship. Thus....not just for comfort, but avoiding dirty or wet seats, we simply took a couple of pool towels with us there to sit on during show. Problem solved.

We still loved the Wonder, and Bucky still spent time up on the sun deck (so convenient to our cabin), but he tried to find an upwind spot up there...if possible. If not, he simply relaxed on our balcony. I loved the layout of deck 17 with GS cabin/suite lounge/CK all on one deck. Our cabin attendant, wait staff team, and bartenders were fabulous! I was very much interested in using the suites sun deck when first boarding, but not doing so ....did not ruin my cruise in the least. It was four wonderful weeks that went by too fast.

He has a paper back instruction book that is over 30 years old he takes with him on every cruise. It's old and tattered, and I have bought him a new version....but it is his pal (beside his Kindle for card games). 😉

"Sea" you and your ducks on board next month. 😉
-
Bucky started making a couple of little Origami boats and balls out of the cruise compass...to place them around. Someone always grabbed them quick. 😉

Just off Wonder last month as well. DH placed his cover up shorts on his lounger next to him while using the the small pool/sun deck. Did not notice the soot on his shorts until he got back to the cabin. Soot actually ate a hole in his new shorts. It was that bad. They had to be tossed. Even worse...we breath that air up there. What is it doing to our lungs when it can eat a hole in fabric? I never used that area for the whole four weeks we were on Wonder, due to soot, but never had a problem on our GS balcony. Though I could see the billow of smoke from the stack on most days.

Personally I would rather smell that than stinky cigarettes, or worse...cigars. 🤢 But the point is, RCI has forbidden smoking of any kind, no matter what it is...including Vaping on balconies. They made the rules (which I applaud), but indeed they need to enforce their own rules. It should not be the paying passenger that has to do it. The OP should not have had to jump through all those hoops just to get the ship to enforce their own rules.

Just in case our freebie wine is late getting to the cabin..."have bottle will travel" packed in my carry on bag already. 😄
-
I put them in the carry on bag for two reasons....the electrical wire string could attract attention and being able to decorate while waiting for our luggage to arrive....perhaps while sipping on a welcome aboard glass of wine. 😉

Had an attendant give us a warning when we put up our string of lights. As soon as I showed her they were LED lights, and had her touch them, she let us keep them. It's not the plug in that is the problem, it's the heat of the old style lights. LED Christmas lights don't get hot. Have mine packed already (battery style) for our cruise on Saturday. 🙂

What Do You Put On Your Cabin Door?
island lady replied to DWALL's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Live and let live. Thank goodness we are not all alike. 😉 Let the people have their fun and move on. There are worse problems in the world. Imagine the world with only one flavor of ice cream. 😮 -
I spent 12 years in the wine business as consultant and sales rep to area fine restaurants, including all the fine wine samples I could get. Now...I pay for the wine. Retirement $$ brings down my snobbery a bit. 😉 We don't have a problem with the wines on the ship. As long as I can get my South Island north coast New Zealand SB (ship also delivers two free bottles of Yealands to our cabin per week), and Bucky can get his glass of Oberon Cab for dinner...we are good to go.

1st time Jr. Suite-perks?
island lady replied to RCCLNYMETS41's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I should have said reserved "sections". Sorry about that. Most shows need reservations now. Almost all shows on Wonder this month and last needed reservations, many we could not make when they made date changes. -
How often does the Chef's Table menu change?
island lady replied to Smhp's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The wines on the ships change constantly. Even during the same week...lots of out of stock problems. They sub with what they have, so not surprising Chef's Table would have to make subs and changes. -
You are most welcome...enjoy EN. 🙂

1st time Jr. Suite-perks?
island lady replied to RCCLNYMETS41's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Bathtub shower versus "Scotty Beam me UP" canister shower of regular balcony cabins. Reserved seating for shows is becoming a thing of the past, no matter what cabin level or C&A level. -
Did not have them on past little ships MJ and Monarch, which no longer in the fleet. All ships hence have had them. I love the location on EN for the DL and CL. They are right across the hallway from each other. The DL is nicer IMHO since it is a tad bigger than the CL, and has an open viewing out area over the VCL. When you get off the elevator, go aft and to the left and up the curving stairway. DL is up a couple of steps on the right, CL on the left. Enjoy EN...she was always one of our favorite little "stretch" models. 🙂
