  1. Also don't gorget many have taken vacation time that they can't necessarily change.
  2. Yes, they are getting a higher food budget as their average pp cruise fare is a lot higher than the rest of the fleet
  3. Would they have to cancel everyone booked at that particular muster station or would they be able to juggle things around and cancel the last people that booked or cancel the cheapest cabins?
  4. Royal Caribbean International is cancelling bookings for the upcoming cruise of the Rhapsody of the Seas due to damage to one of the vessel’s lifeboats. According to a statement sent to guests, the issue is lowering the ship’s lifesaving capacity, which has led to the cancellations. Sailing in the Southern Caribbean, the Rhapsody of the Seas is scheduled to depart from Puerto Rico for its next cruise on Sep. 15, 2024. “On our previous sailing, there was damage to one of our tender boats, which also serves as a lifeboat,” Royal Caribbean said in the letter. “This leaves the ship over capacity for the number of available lifeboat seats in the event of an emergency in our next sailing,” the company added, noting that it’s necessary to have a seat on a lifeboat for every guest onboard. “Unfortunately, this means we’ll be unable to welcome you onboard,” Royal Caribbean said. The company explained that affected guests will receive a full refund of the fare paid for the cancelled booking, as well as a credit for a new cruise. “We know this is disappointing news and we’re terribly sorry for the impact on your vacation plans,” Royal Caribbean added. The Future Cruise Credit (FCC) will be equivalent to 100 percent of the amount paid for the original cruise and must be redeemed by Sep. 13, 2025. Royal Caribbean also promised to reimburse non-refundable, pre-purchased transportation fees incurred due to the cancellation, such as flight, train tickets, and/or rental car. Passengers are asked to present receipts to be able to receive up to $200 per guest for domestic changes or $400 per guest for international changes. The Rhapsody of the Seas is set to offer a seven-night cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia and Barbados. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/09/royal-caribbean-cancels-bookings-due-to-lifeboat-damage/
  5. One other major restriction is that they cannot be combined with group rates which more often than not are more than 10% less than the posted rates
  6. And if that happens within 60 days you can move the booking and they waive the change fees
  7. Yep, Oasis and Allure were built basically identical to each other. They have already done this on Oasis so it's almost like using the same structural drawings and making some minor modifications
  8. For most people waiting to book on board that would be a disadvantage since prices could rise by the time of your sailing negating andy OBC that you get for booking on board. With Royal allowing you to reprice North American generated bookings (for my UK friends who like to point out that they can't reprice theirs) bookings there is no advantage to waiting to book once you know that you are going to book a cruise.
  9. Sometimes you will see a GS guarantee. That is a Grand suite or better. with that gty you would get the perks but not with the more common WS gty
  10. You should call C&A and have your accounts linked so he gets Emerald status as well
  11. It may be a big ship with more people but there are a lot more venues and shows that disperse the people better than ships smaller than her do. My favorite class of ship.
  12. You will get some OBC based on the length of cruise and accommodation type for booking on board. The below is based on a non refundable deposit booking. Balconies and below also get a reduced deposit of $100 per person
  13. Just to make the guests feel good. SDome care, some don't. It's just a status thing.
  14. I would assume that they are going to put the Mason Jar in the same place that they put Portside BBQ on Oasis.
  15. Printed status on the luggage tags means nothing
  16. A lot of times it is cabins that Royal has blocked to fulfill group commitments for TA's and nothing to do whether they were bad or not. Royal does not purposely hold back all the "bad" cabins as everyone's definition of bad vs good cabins is different. That being said you could end up under the pool deck...some people care, some don't: you could end up with a connecting cabin again some care and some don't or you could end up with an aft facing cabin or one all the way forward. There is no rhyme nor reason what is held back to fulfill guarantees and have seen prime midship cabins assigned as well as ones that while there is nothing wrong with them they would not have been my first choice. I'm guessing that the guarantee balcony is probably priced less than booking an oceanview where you get to pick a cabin
  17. I would fo the ice and aqua show and yhe comedy. Anything after that is a bonus.
  18. A lot of the sites functionality gets lost on mobile devices and tablets
  19. I ve gone the route that was suggested and have had success less than 20% of the time. There is a reason that they no longer release them until close to sailing and that is to stop people from switching cabins.
  20. You can search members in the search function
  21. Being allowed in earlier has nothing to do with being D+. Someone who has never sailed and has a 3pm check in time in all likelihood walk on at 10:30 am with all those that stayed up late sweating over a check in time that in all likelihood means nothing.
