  1. From what I've heard, I'll not risk it. Slots for me, then 🙂 Teddie
  2. Of course, the profit issue is front and center--but is it easy to notice if someone is doing it? How do they enforce it--just prohibit the person from their establishment? Teddie
  3. Indulge me, gamblers: I am not a card-player in the casinos--while I'd love to play Black Jack, I am afraid I'll tick off the other players if I take the "wrong" card due to my inexperience. Rest assured--I won't be trying it. Now, here's my question, which goes all the way back to the movie, Rainman. If an individual is talented enough to count cards, how would anyone know? And why is it not allowed? Why is it any different than being an astute and observant player? Don't kill me for asking, Teddie
  4. I am well aware that I don’t HAVE to spend extra on Coco Cay, but I choose to pay because we really liked the atmosphere and food at the BC. For our first cruise to Coco Cay this past February, we tried the BC because we didn’t want to stress about which beach to choose, wanted something on the less crowded side, and wanted beach, ocean, and pool close together. We loved it. We paid about $90 per person with the 2022 Black Friday sale. Our next cruise sails in 2 weeks, and I purchased BC again several months ago to reserve my spot, and checked the pricing every single day since booking. It’s dropped three times from about $180 pp and now to the $78.99 deal! Woot! An actual SALE! teddie
  5. For goodness sakes--it's MECLIZINE and that it is a prescription drug which has been safely used medically for ages for dizziness, vertigo, and nausea. Meclizine is typically prescribed at 25 mg. Over the counter, one Bonine tab is 12.5 mg of Meclizine. Teddie
  6. I wouldn't use this--I don't trust the contents. This patch is not scopolamine--that is only available by prescription. I have been using the prescription patch (Transderm Scop) for decades and it really works to manage my serious motion sickness. It does have side effects (for me blurry vision and dry mouth), and it is medically contraindicated if you have certain medical conditions. That being said, if the Bonine works, then no need to try anything else, in my opinion. Teddie
  7. Hello, My husband's new job calls him away from our planned cruise on November 26, 2023, so I will be sailing with my bestie in his place, and she is Platinum. Our Seapass cards will each have its own associated credit card. I am aware that my friend won't have access to the DL, and I plan on sharing some of my daily drinks vouchers with her, as I am not a big drinker. I noticed that our luggage tags say Platinum, and I am thinking that's no big deal. Would I still get my in-room bottled water? We will use the same Voom log-in as I purchased the two-device plan. Any other issues anyone can think of? Thanks, Teddie
  8. I can’t find this in the app. Where? thanks, teddie
  9. Anyone else remember the "pier upgrades"? That's when you could simply see the head person at check-in and ask if any were available? The costs were nominal, if I recall. Sigh..... Teddie
  10. Rather than create a new post on bidding for upgrades, I’ll ask my question here on the same topic. We are in a regular balcony and we bid on JS, JS w large balcony, and GS. Why is it when I follow the link on my cruise details to the Bidding page, only the GS shows up top with the option to modify or cancel the bid? The two JS bids are listed below and do not offer those options. When I do a mock booking, there are still cabins (albeit not so many) in all three categories showing as available. Any ideas? thanks, teddie
  11. Seas to Bermuda can be rough at times. We have sailed to the Bahamas and Caribbean many times from Bayonne, and the seas have tended to be smooth. I say this as an individual who is seriously prone to seasickness--and because of this I ALWAYS use/bring seasick meds: scopolamine patch works great for me, but if over the counter oral meds like Bonine (it is the same as Meclizine) work for you, be sure to be prepared. Have a great cruise! Teddie
  12. I found that throughout the day, people may move around a bit. So if that’s the case on your cruise, maybe you will get a chance to try out some of those other things. We camped out on the beach, so we could get both sun and shade. Either way, it was a tranquil and beautiful day. teddie
  13. I get that it’s your opinion, so here’s my take: I had never considered how much others are paying—never crossed my mind. I pay for it if I feel the price is right for us. I love the Beach Club, and am looking forward to going in November to enjoy it again. I won’t be comparing ship size, who paid what, and who got there first. First come, first served. teddie
  14. That is rather insensitive to those who may truly be in harm's way. It is a war, after all. Teddie
  15. I feel the same. It's a small region, and can go extremely volatile. I have many, many relatives in Cyprus, and in the Limmasol area. @dani negreanu and others in Israel and surrounding areas, please stay safe. Teddie
  16. Our first cruise was on the Explorer, then the Voyager, and then the Explorer again! Here is a recent Explorer review by Cruising with Ben and David. They are consistently objective and friendly in all of their reviews, including this one:
  17. Can the bed in the separate bedroom of the GS be converted to 2 twins? Thanks, Teddie
