In practice they eliminated the 10% Elite discount in the shops by now having a perpetual 15% off sale in all the shops (only one discount allowed per purchase ) . Of course they simply raised the shop prices 15% or more to accomplish this, and BINGO no more Elite discount IMO next to go : Mini Bars, and MTL luncheons

After reading this and many other posts like it, it's amazing that anybody would call the Medical center and report a negative test, and instead just continue on their cruise.... Personally, with what I know now from CC, at this point I doubt I call and report it .

The only two ships left in the fleet without an IC are the Diamond and the Island. As posted above the Sapphire does have an IC, and additionally has been upgraded with an Alfredo's

International Cafe definitely has Soy and Almond milk available with purchased coffee drinks, not sure about oat

So if DW still has a refundable OBC at the end of the cruise they will transfer it to the DH folio to pay off the total account/cabin balance for both ?

Here's the best part.. That table mate at the luncheon said as an example of them raising the prices before the discounts, was a carton of cigarettes (10 packs) was selling in the shops for $51.00, yet you could buy the same brand single pack at the casino bar for $4.00 per pack = $4.00 X 10 = $40.00 not $51.00 Pettiness by Princess is exactly the right word

The other lost elite perk which seems not to be getting much attention is the seemly loss of the 10% discounts in the shops... Just off the Sky 2 weeks ago, and there are what appears to be permanent stickers on all the shop windows saying " This Cruise Only 15% Off", . On our first purchase in one of the shops I noticed there was no Elite discount, and ask what about the discount, and the reply was "No", you got 15%, and my reply was so did everyone though, what about the published 10% benefit for Elites, she simply said new policy only one discount per purchase. The 15% window signs are a lie as I sat with a couple at the MTL who had been onboard for 33 days already, and he commented that he already complained to guest services about the out-right lie those shop signs covey, saying "This Cruise Only". And yes they appear to have just raised the ticket prices on everything 15%, and then lower it again with the discount at check out. So apparently bye bye 10% Elite discount 😝 Use the search feature here on CC, and you'll find this being reported on posts from others ships fleet wide, not just the Sky PS. I personally think the next benefit to go is the mini-bar -- Their rationale will be "With Princess Plus" there's no longer a need for a mini-bars ......... .

Just curious... Any idea yet what the passenger count is ?

I've sailed the Sapphire a couple of times, Norway in 2018, and Yokohama to Vancouver in 2014, and with the exception of the above mention of there being no Crown Grill, to me the Sapphire is the best of the original Grand class ships. Just the wider promenade alone makes her a stand out, and unlike her sister the Diamond the Sapphire as mentioned has been upgraded with an Alfredo's and an International Cafe which the Diamond is still missing. Any comparisons to the old rust bucket Grand also, is misguided as the Sapphire is newer, is/was still in great shape, she's unique, and under went a dry dock right before the shutdown in 2019

For last two months the whole fleet has slowly been transfering required crew to the US west coast to staff the restarts of the Sapphire and Diamond, and most of the "currently unavailble" status's fleet wide were as a precaution for any potential under staffing in relation to passenger counts vs. required crew

Just a FYI reference for you to gauge : --> We just got off the Sky Princess 2 weeks ago (9/3/22) in Europe, and our trivia team friend also had 16,000 points, and her "come back offer" was for a free Mini-Suite, and the Princess Plus package good for up to a 21 day cruise
