What would you expect the CR people to say?
I've been on enough cruises over the years and been to enough of the Spas on board - although I don't do much - some of the people are good, some are not and for me at least, it has no connection to which company they work for.

Decorating stuff except for the sight line. It will be interesting to see how that's done since I heard that those big pillars are "supports", not decoration.
I - and others - will let you know . . .

Is anyone on the Explorer now who can confirm that the ship will go into dry dock on/about October 29 and be out for the people joining in November 12.
And if possible - what is to be done?
Thanks . . .Peggy

CruisetheCs,
Thanks for the reminder that if I use my phone as a camera - which I do some/most of the time - using it to listen to the guide becomes a real issue. I had heard about some of the other issues but somehow this one slipped by me,

I assume the change-over is when the ships are in the States (except for the Splendor)

Hi Sheila,
The big difference between us, is that I travel solo so the 2-room issue isn't important. Enjoy the upgrade!🎈

Ann/Shel,
I much prefer the Concierge cabin. it's open and airy. the bed faces the sliding door - I really liked it. No tub, that's true.
The penthouse has a small closet and I found it felt more cramped, closed in.
I'll be in a concierge cabins in a month for the crossing.

I looked at the tour to the Blue Lagoon on the Grand Arctic cruise next June and no lunch is mentioned. It is a 4 hour tour.
Indecently, I was there last summer - another line/ship - and getting changed publicly was not a big deal - everyone is concerned with themselves and not paying attention to any one else.

Rachel - you made a good decision.
Our hotel was nice but the staff was overwhelmed but the number of tourists in town - in addition to the group from our ship, there were several other ship groups as well.
. We walked to the ship too - I like being able to do that!

Philipcruiser,
There was a 13/14 year old girl on the whole '19WC. She was traveling with her Grandparents who were both educators. She seemed to have a very good time - they all went to lectures, took tours, spent time in the computer room, went to the evening entertainment and probably played games - I don't so I can't vouch for that - and she was generally around the ship all day.
She was everyone's daughter/granddaughter.
She was delightful and we all - officers, staff, crew and passengers - enjoyed her . . .
You are right - nothing special for kids but this young lady seemed fine.
Just another opinion.

Ronrick,
I understand - we all need to react to our own experiences.

And just because, the lagoon is shallow enough to stand in - I'm short about 5' and had no problem walking around the area.
Also, no privacy changing in/out of a bathing suit. There may be some enclosed areas but I didn't see them. It's no big deal but better to know than not!

Rachel and RonRick,
I've stayed at the Regent Hotels, pre-cruise and it's never been a problem. The local people in charge for the most part do a good job and are organized.
The only time I've had issues were on other lines - one cruise was this summer (Iceland) where you and George were as well - the Hotel where we were was a disaster.
Anyway, it's nice to have choices!

Califsealion,
Handicapped seats: talk to someone at the Destination Services Desk and they will RESERVE the front seats on the bus for you and your mom on all you tours.

Jackie,
I'm ready to go too . . . . unfortunately, we have a month to wait. Ah well.
And yes, I'll have a couple of the little bottles.
Peggy

For me, the reusable bottle needs to be small enough to fit in my pocketbook. At this point, I refill some small plastic bottles I "acquired" on a tour earlier this year.

As I understand it, the company managing the new Spa on Regent will be the same group which is on Crystal/SilverSea/Seabourn and numerous other lines - a division of Steiner. Here is the web site: https://www.theonboardspa.com/page/About-Us-Our-Cruise-Partners.aspx
Regent isn't mentioned - yet. Norwegian is.
As I understand it, the Spas are somewhat different on each line, depending on what is expected.
I have no clue about costs - we'll all have to wait until the change happens. The Explorer will be first - in early December when the ship reached Miami.

Do you have an email for Mike Moore?
Thanks . . .

When does all of this go into affect?
The original posting referred to the Navigator in March, 2021. Regent - and a number of other older ships from other lines - will be going to some of the listed ports around that time. I'm thinking of several WC trips starting earlier in 2021 in California.
Most - if not all of the Luxury line's ships are "older" and since I have no clue what controls emissions - physical parts of ships? fuel? What else? This could wreak havoc!
Just a thought . . .

Another thing you can do - on the old ships anyway - is to ask to have the balcony divider removed between the cabins. That would give you easier access to both cabins. The dividers swing open - that is how the crew do what needs to be done on the balconies - but can be removed as well.

When in Maine!
And I'd go for the one with butter too.

2022 World Cruise
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises

The Gala for Full Cruisers should be at the Fairmont Hotel on January 4th, the night before we board. The dress is "Cocktail" as opposed to Black Tie. Drinks, dinner, some entertainment with a number of Management people as well as some Senior Staff from the ship.
Regent does a good job - not a surprise!
