  1. I bet that it was! We have booked a room this coming May with a terrace overlooking the lagoon. Very much looking forward to that. We struggled with GC view vs Lagoon, but a room opened up that we were lucky to snag and pretty excited.
  2. This will be our first time (and no, not seven day trippers) on SB. You have a way that just makes me chuckle and appreciate - as well as respect. So if you had two or three top favorites from TK what would be your top choices? One of us is allergic to shellfish.
  3. It’s so hard to figure out. Booking early gives us better opportunities to use miles and that plays big for us. I wish it was easier. But with the amount of miles it’s taking now, those will be gone sooner than planned! What matters most is just making it happen somehow.
  4. Since it’s so rare that I do it, or take these long trips, I think I won’t worry about it - but there could be
  5. Totally agree. We had a 29 day with Viking that is such a favorite memory. I know it doesn’t compare to their long journeys, but it was for us and it was awesome. It just allows you to fully allow for letting it go and sink fully in. We are hoping to do a long voyage again sometime in the next couple years, once our ‘just acquired before Covid’ pup gets more comfortable with our traveling. This year 2 1/2 weeks will be longest time apart. So go have a blast and don’t worry about detox. Enjoy every moment!
  6. I keep trying to figure this out too. It seems like it is a crap shoot. Book up front and likely pay more -but also likely save on airfare and hotels - or wait, and possibly pay more for the two other factors and save on the cruise. I sure don’t have the answers!
  7. I just took a picture of this post for future reference. Thank you
  8. If that is acceptable to you, then it is to you.
  9. Very good point. We each bring to the plate different priorities. For some it is food, others wine, others excursions, etc.
  10. Viking has increased pricing significantly. So the quality and quantity should not decrease.
  11. We are going to Malta for the first time early June. Been on our bucket list for a long while. I cannot wait. Good information here
  12. We were scheduled last year with one of the first sailings of Onward and unfortunately had to cancel. They had a bumpy start, but sounds like a lot of that was supply chain issues. I think that has all smoothed out. Will look forward to your review and hoping you have a great experience. I am happy that this thread started. It has provided Koper options for more than one visit, as well as additional good information!
  13. It does help. Wine selection is a big piece for me as well. On Viking their beverage package, reasonably priced offers some we are okay with. I am just now discovering the expectation of included wines on Seabourn. Completely unimpressed and that surprised me. I expected much better. Both lines allow wine brought on board with no corkage fee - so that is a plus but I definitely hear what you are saying. Azamara - really interesting itineraries. A little worried about other aspects. I am looking at 2024 itineraries on several lines and Azamara holds the most attraction, albeit with concerns outside of the actual itinerary. So we will see how this sailing with Seabourn goes first.
  14. I wasn’t aware that they could do that. Too bad they don’t have balconies on their ships sailing the Mediterranean- at least not that I could find when I looked a while back
  15. We are scheduled to dock in Fusina this May
  16. Well, those are all three very nice choices for included bubbles.
  17. Mine as well. Isn’t that a beautiful thing
  18. I did not know that! Sign me up! Holy moly. We are mostly red wine drinkers, but that inclusion would change the equation a bit! Do you know if this is still the case post Covid, or if this is region specific?
  19. Personally, when I am on vacation, I don’t want to feel like I need to review my account daily to make sure I have or haven’t been charged for a drink. I am on vacation. Purchasing SSBP is not indicative of being an alcoholic, as has been indicated on this board, on this subject, in the past. We enjoy it for the ease of choice, because we do not favor the included wines, and quite frankly do not drink them. We also at times like a cocktail before dinner when we are on vacation. SSBP also includes the opportunity to attend some wine or cocktail tastings without charge. It is personal choice. Whether to order off a menu and be charged glass by glass - or not. Whether it pencils out better, or not.
  20. Thank you I’ve been on CC for a bit and I know that dress codes discussions can light the flames on boards - but an innocent, simple question such as mine should have been a nonstarter, as I wasn’t pushing back against the published dress code. Truly. I have let this go.
  21. Jump on a ferry and go to Capri for the day. We enjoyed that from Naples after a couple previous stops there. Very easy and a wonderful alternative.
  22. Totally agree! Plus, it’s just a classy thing to do. Thanks for bringing this into the dialogue.
  23. Thank you Catlover. I wasn’t suggesting a cotton short sleeve shirt with rolled up sleeves. Personally, I enjoy DH in a nice pear of silk slacks and a beautiful silk shirt - both short and long sleeve depending on temps. Add a jacket, when appropriate, and it’s a winner. We enjoy dressing up as well, but a jacket and tie worn to dinner by others isn’t going to affect my experience, or my enjoyment of my meal, as much a having a good glass of wine to go with it! But that’s a whole different discussion.
  24. Thank you. I will keep checking, but I a, “following” and haven’t had recent updates. Enjoy your sailing! The Norwegian Fjords are just so incredibly beautiful. I wouldn’t mind going back up there again sometime. And yeah, packing is quite varied for that part of our world. Have a safe trip
