Jewel unable to return to Amsterdam today
CruiszBug replied to little britain's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Hello, Pat! After getting off Serenade I stayed in Amsterdam another 3 nights and you aren't kidding about the bicycles, lol! In fact I got so used to hearing the ding of their bike bells that I bought one as souvenir to put on my bike! (To those who don't know, they only ding their bell if someone is about to get run over...) Felt fortunate that several other couples from the cruise were staying at my hotel. It was nice comparing notes. Truly had a wonderful time the entire trip! Enjoyed meeting you and Bucky! Will continue following until the UWC comes home... -

I must agree with #4! I was on that cruise and it was also our first time to Alaska or Canada, for that matter! We brought our special needs daughter with us, and she had a ball, as well! Sigh... never saw that itinerary repeated. Thank you for all of the cool information from you and Twangster! I will be joining the Serenade in July for a few mini-segments. Can't wait! -

I can put a ton in those paper bags! You fold your clothes flat. Put the big items in first. Slide the smaller items in next. Take it to the top and either staple or tape. -
I must add my kudos to the SWA team who helped us make our flight to Vegas. We only had a 30 min connection and are always last off the plane waiting for Phoebe's wheelchair and medical dolly. About half a dozen people helped us off and escorted us to our next gate while re-tagging our wheelchair talking on walkie talkies, etc... We were up the gangway and settled in with hardly a stop to scan our boarding passes. No doubt we would have missed that connection without help. The attendant on our first flight asked why we booked our flights so close, I said "We booked to Vegas, not Nashville. I didn't do it on purpose. This was scheduled by Southwest." 🤨🤔

April 13-29, 2024: HAWAII DO-OVER! Made it to the airport by 5:15 AM! Brittany (Phoebe’s nurse) was waiting for us! 😀 Thank you, Tom for being our UBER driver! Checked 8 bags @registration. TSA CARES agent escorted us through security. Gate tagged/checked wheelchair and medical dolly with 8 additional carry-ons… Made our 6:30 AM flight on Southwest to Las Vegas via Nashville. Let the trip begin! (Wish us Luck!)

DAY 1: Hotel Check-In and Dinner with Long-Lost Family! We stayed at The Jockey Club which is sandwiched between the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan hotels. We loved it! One large bedroom, a dining room, kitchen, living room... but conversely a teeny-tiny bathroom! We were able to get a bath chair that fit half-in and half-out of the tub for Phoebe! No view at all, but for the location and price we were happy campers! Plus everyone at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful! We were only a 5 minute walk to Caesar's Palace so we took our time for a little sight-seeing along the way. It was a gorgeous afternoon! Dinner reservations were for 4:45 PM which was our only option other than really late. Hell's Kitchen? Hell, yeah! We were as excited to try Gordon Ramsay's food as we were to see my long lost Aunt Judy and cousins Tonda and Mindy. Unfortunately my other cousin Tammi and her husband had to opt out last minute but we will make it a point to do this again! Maybe even in Florida! Yes, the food was delicious! I think we tried a little of everything on the menu, family-style sharing! We had not eaten anything all day (other than the pretzels on the plane)... but were stuffed by the end of the sticky toffee pudding!😋

DAY 1: Arrival in Las Vegas Arrived in LAS and collected our luggage. Took about 45 minutes to get an accessible taxi to our hotel. Do not believe what they tell you! I had to call a taxi myself even though the taxi attendant told me he called one for us. Plus, the HA pickup location was put right next to the SMOKING section! Gawrsh...poor planning there! Our taxi was a side-ramp Toyota Sienna. We fit 3 people plus ALL of our luggage in the one vehicle! Our driver was, like me, a JENGA master! 😄

Hello, Everyone! We have been infrequent posters but have enjoyed following different topics, such as Helen and Marty's current spectacular trip! Along that vein I would like to do the same. I would love to do a "Live Trip Report" but know I could not keep up, so I will do a semi-live here, if that is okay? We are leaving Saturday morning (early) flying to Las Vegas to help break up our super long trip to Hawaii! Yes, we going to try for a "do-over" of our Aulani and Pacific Crossing to Vancouver which was a "dizaster" last year, lol! Pictures to follow! If it would be too messy for the thread I will do a regular trip report...
