  1. I like both ships. Maybe Celebration slightly more. But I love the southern itinerary so easy decision for me. Go southern.
  2. It should be in the system so when you order a drink in the casino, it’s comped. If it doesn’t come back comped, talk to the casino host/hostess.
  3. Hit an ice berg. I know how this ends. Grab a door to hold onto.
  4. Agree with this. It’s truly amazing the number of arguments I see about cheers, if it’s worth it, etc. It’s really a simple math problem. People should do the math and decide if their drinking behavior (including both alcohol and non alcoholic drinks) is worth it. If it’s not, don’t get it. But the thought you have to be a heavy drinker to make it worth it is nonsense. You could make it worth it and never be legally drunk. I haven’t done that but it’s possible……
  5. I get why it’s annoying but the logistics of coming up with exceptions would be hard. What qualifies? How do you document it? To me, it’s not just about the money. It’s also how to implement exceptions. I wouldn’t want the headache.
  6. It may be different based on the port but they didn’t store our extra bottles. Not that that really matters.
  7. And I get that. My point wasn’t directed at what you specifically endured. I get you likely have had to deal with that before. I agree with your conditions about what you want when you cruise. Especially the shorter cruises.
  8. I totally agree with your point. If people are not comfortable, especially when they are paying to be somewhere, they shouldn’t do it. But that’s each person’s decision. It seems like some people have an issue with the fact that I don’t worry about what others are doing on a cruise. I don’t care that people don’t. I have a blast on every cruise.
  9. Are you assuming I’m not gay and haven’t been subject to dirty looks? Huh. Anyway, Yes, situational awareness is critical anywhere you go. And if people being rude make you physically afraid, do what you need to do. As for me, I just don’t let what others are doing bother me until I believe it’s a danger to me physically. And that’s never happened in a cruise.
  10. Ah. I guess I’ve been cruising wrong. So, instead of just having fun and not focusing on people I don’t even know, I should let others’ behavior negatively affect my cruise? Man, I’m sure glad you copied and pasted the definition of rude for me. That way, I can have less fun on cruises but make sure I’m letting rude behavior affect me properly. And your shaking your head over this since yesterday is delicious irony for me. Appreciate the fun times.
  11. If you want to let other passengers’ behavior affect you, that’s on you. I don’t get it. I’m too busy having fun in my cruises.
  12. At least we can agree on that. Just surprising how many people complain about what other cruisers say, do, dress, how they look at you, etc. Just grumpy people letting others affect them. Weird.
  13. Let’s go with NYC and surrounding areas. Get outside of NYC, good. Get into the garden state part of NJ, also good. But as far as the city goes, Escape From NY had it right.
  14. There are a few friendly people in NY/NJ. But they just moved to Florida.
  15. Have her best friend tell her that she and her husband are going on that trip (not your wife). Have her brag about it and say how much she is looking forward to it and that her husband is the best. Then, when your wife is talking to you about it, spring it on her. You know your wife, so my biggest advice is don’t wait past the date she actually May stress out if it’s too late before the cruise.
  16. We like the darkness of the interiors. I totally get why people like the light though. Being on 8 over 1 also may be a better location.
  17. I do find a difference in passengers out of different ports. For example, Miami has a lot more people from NY/NJ than other ports, so you get a few more people with grumpy attitudes. I mean, I get it. Living in NY/NJ must stink, but it’s vacation. Having said that, there has never been a cruise where I’ve let passenger behavior affect my enjoyment. Unless someone physically assaults me, I just don’t care. Why other people being rude affects people is a mystery to me.
  18. On the Celebration and Mardi Gras, craps is now $10. Least it was in September and December
  19. As a carnival stock holder, I want them to increase prices on things until people no longer buy them.
  20. That’s what people do during the old muster drill. Saw people feint standing there.
  21. If they want to have the muster drill because it’s good training for the crew, great. Then have that training. As for passengers, it’s a time to stand still and hopefully not lock knees.
  22. I get that’s the purpose. But people standing there like sardines are thinking the same thing. When is this going to be done so I can go have some fun. That wasn’t training. It was checking the box.
  23. The old muster drill was pointless. Theater to make it seem like something worthwhile was being done.
  24. There are Definitely piano bar cliques. The first time I went to one, the dude played that Alice song. I mentioned I had never heard the song before and the people around me thought I had 2 heads. I said, well, in my defense, the song is terrible. Based on the looks I got, knew at that moment piano bar would not be for me.
  25. Grand Turk is nice. But I like mahogany bay for the same reason. Free beach. Amber Cove and Costa Maya are basically the same for me.
