Yeah, pig and anchor is great food, good atmosphere. I think the ribs and something else is extra but I never get that.

My answer was assuming they meant bought at a port once sailing started. Agree on embarkation that you just take them to the cabin.
-
Lucky you. Security at whatever port you bought the alcohol was napping on the job.

On our last two B2Bs, it was on the last day of the second cruise.

If it’s the one for anywhere on the ship, it’s basically the same as cheers. So yeah, dining room, coffee, etc. Not sure what places it doesn’t apply to on the first day other than Texas. You can use it in Florida for sure.

Brand new to Carnival - help me please
Hoosierpop replied to colesc15's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We have been on Mardi Gras Havana as well as the Horizon. It’s true the Havana is better on the Horizon (or Vista class ships) but we liked having an area to lay out and easy bar access on the MG without having to worry it’s too crowded. For the same price, we would go Havana every time over an ocean view room. Not close for us. And I get it’s all subjective. We just spend almost no time in our cabin. -
Celebration! / Live! / Solo? Jan-14-21-2024 The Tribe Cruise!
Hoosierpop replied to sid_9169's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
@sid_9169 love your commentary. And shirts. Great stuff. I’ll be on the May Horizon cruise you’re on. I’m not a huge Alchemy guy but if I’m there and it gets busy, I’ll save my seat for you. I can’t lose money at the crap table sitting at the alchemy bar…..we live in Gainesville, GA and you picked a great time for this cruise. Safe travels -
There won’t be. Just wondering if they will spilt us up into 2 tables or 4 type of thing.
-
Hey All, We have 16 going on the Horizon this May. 6:00 dining was booked so we all have YTD. We will waitlist for 6:00 and check with the Matre D when we board, but I wanted to see if anyone had experience with a large group with YTD. I know we won’t be able to sit at a single table, but do they split us up into tables of 4? And does a large group take a long time to sit? We will check in as soon as possible (5:30 or whatever it is). Basically, I’m looking for opinions on how hard I should try and get us 6:00 set time vs sticking with YTD.

Mardi Gras..... How long from the front to the back?
Hoosierpop replied to Drrandall's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Well, I suppose it depends on any mobility issues. If you have none, it’s a short walk to me. Couple of minutes maybe? -
Excel Class Spoiled Us - Disappointed in 8 Day Options
Hoosierpop replied to dabomb6608's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I do like some ships more than others but the ship itself is never the reason I cruise. feel for you if it makes that much of a difference. Maybe try a higher end cruise line? -
Anyone been on the Liberty recently and know when they typically start boarding? It’s been a while since I’ve been out of Port Canaveral. And I totally get it depends on previous disembarkation. Just looking for typical.
-
I’m going to pick a random time and say….10:30?
-
I think printed them at first but never needed them so we stopped
-
This is an unpopular opinion but this is why I always book myself. I had an issue where a PVP messed up a simple thing and wouldn’t correct it. There is nothing a PvP can do that I can’t. But they can mess things up for sure.

We go into airplane mode at sail away. And yes, bring your charger.

Christmas cruise on Freedom, A lot to process!
Hoosierpop replied to cbringdrvr's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I’m hung up on the not saving money by staying away from family. That sounds like a win-win to me. -
I like them. Least favorite thing is no Oceans plaza so sitting and listening to music can be tough in the atrium or casino bar. But I’d sail on them anytime.
-
And $15 minimum on Mardi Gras and Celebration.
-
Actually, you’re right, I did say that. Let me be clear, it was (and is) a stupid decision to rent a scooter on a port day. Any accident that comes from that, and the consequences of that accident, are the result of poor decision making. Does that mean they deserved it? Nope. But their poor decision making resulted in this. Whether they had insurance or their passports isn’t the issue to me. And they have now shifted a burden onto their families. Grats on that.

Conquest passenger reported missing 9/6/2023
Hoosierpop replied to dobiemom's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Well, given that it’s been 7 days, he wasn’t/isn’t on the ship (at least, not alive). I’m not sure what delaying things last Monday would have done. They searched the ship. He wasn’t on it. Unless he is some ship ninja. The most likely thing is, he jumped overboard and the detection system didn’t catch it. -
Set my alarm for midnight to check in
Hoosierpop replied to Thad409's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I did until they brought back the priority boarding for platinum/diamond so now it there’s no need. Unless I happen to be up at midnight.
