Yes, you buy gift cards at a 10% discount from AARP & Allstate. (MANY threads for this, just search). Don't have to be a member of either company. Then you save 10% on anything you spend with Carnival. It's nice to save $400-$500 on each cruise just by using gift cards.

I just purchased my first ecard. I applied it online but after going back into my cruise on Carnival it doesn’t show as a payment. How long does it take to show against your balance?

 

I think I got the email within maybe 5 minutes stating it had been applied? Then when I went back into my cruise manager it showed the balance.
