AARP gift Cards

I'm having trouble with the AARP site. The rewards page says "eGift Cards Available", but there is no email delivery option in the drop-down menu. "Mail" and "Select" are the only things under "Delivery Option". Any insights?

They do not currently have eCards, despite that image overlay.

I've gone to the AARP website many times and cannot find any gift cards/e-cards just a link to a deal on cruises. What am I doing wrong?

You have to go to AARP Rewards for Good. You do a few quizzes, earn points, and use the points toward the gift certificates. It is easy to sign up. It is free, and they don't fill your inbox up with junk.

What happens if you buy two $500 AARP gift cards but DON'T spend the entire amount on your cruise?

Then you have $X amount left on the gift cards.

Unless you put them all on your account when you embark for whatever reason. Then you can either "cash out" at the casino to get your money back, or Carnival will mail you a new gift card in a couple of weeks.

Personally I would hold onto your gift cards and pay your balance the last day of your cruise with them, it makes life so much easier.

Thank you for letting me know about AARP gift cards cruise critic ... saved hundreds ! Another question though... when I entered the cards online .. it would not let me enter more than I owe. I wanted to put additional on to cover things purchase on ship. Is this a possibility? Also if I have amount left on account from gift cards at end, can I only get gift cards back ? I have seen some mention “cash out” at casino ... what does that mean?

Thanks!

You cannot load money on your account before you get to the terminal. You can do this at the terminal if you wish to load money onto your account prior to your cruise. You can however, buy "cruise cash" if you wish.

Yes, they refund you in the same method that you pay. That's why I like only going once and paying my balance with my gift card so I have the gift card(s) with the remaining balance, rather than having to wait or go to the casino.

On your last day go to the casino, load however much is left into a machine, then cash out at the banker. I personally don't do this so someone who has can give you step by step on doing this.

Everything that teknoge3k said, but keep in mind that Cruise Cash is only good for the cruise you buy it for and is non-refundable, so if you take that route, you want to make sure you spend it.

To pay off the S&S balance with gift cards at the end, what do you choose as your payment method to open the account initially?

I just put a credit card on file. We don't ever use cash for anything. Our family is like the ship, we're cashless. lol I had responded to another comment that yes, I'm that guy that will put a dollar on my card. At Chick-Fil-A last week I put $0.49 on my card.

On our last night I go to GS and just pay whatever spending balance we have with the gift cards I take with me. No preloading, no having to keep track of the balance every day, no cashing out... It's just easier for me.
