$$$ Cash Onboard $$$

Recommended Posts

It depends on what you are going to do in the ports and are you paying for everything in cash. We were just there in May and found some items to be expensive. I would take a few hundred dollars and have a credit card in reserve. Enjoy your cruise Alaska is beautiful.

If you are a casino gambler, I would take about $1200.00. if not, then $300.00 cash should do it. You can always get cash from the casino cage off of your sea pass. Depending on your C&A and your casino tier, it might be free (no fees)

I think this is exactly what we took - about $300, and we paid for nearly everything on our credit cards. So we spent maybe $100 of the cash over our 10 day land tour and cruise.

We always bring more cash than we think we'll need. Better to have it, than to need it and have to pay to access your own money via ATMs or other means. You can take unspent funds home and redeposit into your account.
