Smoking in Vibe on Getaway, Yay or Nay?

So my balcony is a public area?

It really doesn't matter. It is going to come down to if people complain and my friend gets the smoking thing in current society and is not one to offend. She'd apologize and put it out if reasonably approached. We just dnt want to waste a perfectly nice morning in Miami with all that trying to get Vibe passes entails if she can't also fully enjoy her time there as well.

Tell your friend she can come hang out with me and my DH in whatever designated areas there are! Oddly I only smoke when I am on vacation (probably due to the lovely libations) and because DH is a cigar smoker. Now HE's really treated like a 3rd class citizen!

TG there is the Humidor Cigar Lounge which lets every smoker in regardless. Maybe together we can all find the acceptable nooks and crannies where smokers can also enjoy their pleasures and vices. :D;):cool:

Sailed on Epic twice and only one side of the Posh bar was ok for smoking. There was never an issue either time. Smokers came over or just sat and smoked. The rest of the area was smoke free.

I thought there was only one Haven. When did they add another?

Congrats, you hung on to that question since July waiting for someone to open up this thread again. So we now have the weekly smoking thread in motion.

I've never seen a non-smoker go into the smoking areas and start putting out cigarettes! :)

Not that far but I have gotten nasty comments, gotten into arguments and have had people flailing their hands in my face in smoking area of the casino. One guy got into it with my mother about smoking at the table (it was a smoking table) and he was nasty as hell all week to players, the dealers, everyone and they got into it at the 3 card table. Security came and he was banned from the casino for the rest of the week and we didn’t see him until the very last morning in the Haven area. Boy he looked like he wanted to stab my mother in the eyes. Oh well, he was not missed in the casino by anyone.

I agree with Linda. I enjoyed POSH. I saw some smoking near the bar but it never affected my area.

Had a Vibe pass on Getaway last week. On the first day there were 4 or 5 people smoking on one corner of the bar. Other days there may have been 1 or 2 people smoking there. I hate cigarette smoke but it was not noticeable there. The Vibe was great. Bartenders were fantastic. The biggest negative for me was the smell of smoke throughout the entire open section in the middle of the ship.

Here's the deal. On Getaway for example, Vibe had a smoking area at the bar, there were 3 or maybe 4 ashtrays lined up to be used by smoking guests. That is exactly the same way it was one year ago on the same ship.

Overall there were very few smokers, there were some, but very few, and it was of a very limited duration.

Depenending on where you are situated in or at Vibe, you likely would not notice smoking but for the visibility of the ashtrays set out on that particular section of the bar.
