Drink requests!

I like girly drinks - lava flow, daiquiris, etc. I'm not a beer or wine drinker. The problem is that the frozen drinks are a LOT of calories. So I'm looking for suggestions for mixed drinks for my upcoming Freedom cruise in March. R Bar made a great drink called red velvet cake but I don't think it's still on the menu.

I'm watching my weight, so on the next cruise, I'm going to alternate fancy blended drinks with my old standby of alcohol-with-diet-mixer. My go to lower calorie drink is Malibu (coconut) & Diet Coke, or regular rum & Diet Coke. It's still not "healthy", but it probably saves me around 1000 calories a day...

Lowest calorie drink would be vodka & club soda. If you are really watching calories this is the best. With a squeeze of lime, very nice

Almost all girly drinks are sweet because they are loaded with sugar.

Anything on that list above is not for anyone watching their weight.

They are full of that Island Oasis mix which I think RC uses.

Actually vodka & soda would be the lowest calorie drink. Clear spirits have less calories than dark ones. Dark liquors have a higher sugar content.

The alcohol is FULL of calories...don't forget that!

My DH and I tried to do that but after a bit we returned to a few of our old favorites and still enjoyed the drink package.

That's what I thought.

And you are probably correct, I never did any real research.

But this guy I work with who is very thin and weight conscience.

Told me that Crown has less sugar than Vodka.

That was his drink.

I'm pretty sure a MudSlide must be at the top of the calorie list. Doesn't it contain actual ice cream?

I heard the lowest calorie drink is Rum & Diet Coke. I doubt any real difference exists; it's probably a matter of whether you lean towards dark or light sodas /dark or light liquors.

Have you tried hard cider? Don't let the shape of the bottle fool you. My wife would never in a million years drink a beer but she loves hard cider. If you can find one of the less sweet Angry Orchards on board they usually set you back around 150 calories per bottle which is far less than one of those frozen fruity beverages. Strongbow is about 140 I think but if you're coming from the world of fruity drinks you might prefer Angry Orchard instead.

Not sure if hard seltzers are being served on board, but we have tried a few recently here at home that are in the 100 calorie range.

Yes, you can order shots.

Flavored Vodkas like Mango, Raspberry etc are good with club soda and a lime. I like Hendrick's Gin and Diet Tonic but Diet Tonic was not available on the Anthem. Not sure if that's the case fleet wide.

Frozen mojito!!! I can only find these on Royal and it's always my first drink of the cruise!
