Hoyaheel Posted December 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2009 I just bought these jeans and I love them, but I don't know what shoes to wear! (I got them for an extra 30% off from a coupon I had) I love the way they look - other than needing to be hemmed:rolleyes: -but won't keep them if I can't figure out what to wear with them. I rarely wear navy - only pair navy shoes I have is slingback pumps for business. I really don't like navy & black worn together - I guess I'm old-fashioned because to me it looks like you tried to color match and failed. Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe metallic, but I want daytime use (and potentially casual evening/weekend use) from the pants. Thanks! http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,1938H_AKA-Woman-Velvet-Jeans-Stretch-Cotton-Five-Pocket-For-Women.html

cb at sea Posted December 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Either boots, or a metallic heel...depends if you want to "dress it up" or "down"....they still have the look of jeans, so they lean to the more "casual" styles.

Hoyaheel Posted December 15, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Brown, huh? I have lots of brown...I didn't think brown went with navy either. Guess I shall try stuff on tonight and see if I like it! (I never wear grey either, so I don't own any grey shoes)
cruisegal101 Posted December 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Meant to say brown suede. I agree that brown will work great.
ottawa_traveler Posted December 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2009 http://www.6pm.com/bella-vita-vera-pewter-kidskin-satin The pewter looks really cute (they also come in navy, though you'd have to see if navys would work together). Hoyaheel Posted December 16, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted December 16, 2009 Ottawa - that's sort of what I was thinking - a co-worker of mine has some really cute moccasin/ballet flats in a muted silver she wears all the time with work pants and they look so cute on her. I tried with some brown suede ballet flats I have and it was ok, but didn't wow me. At least I have *something* though. Guess that means I'll keep the pants;)
TerriSea Posted December 16, 2009 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2009 I love the pewter kidskin flats! They would look smashing with navy velvet! Gray and/or pewter: good recommendations! I would also say most browns would look OK. Also I wear bronze high heel metallic cowboy boots with navy pants and they ....surprisingly work! Inside the box: Navy and brown Slightly outside the box: Pewter, gray, bronze, bone, silver/graphite, camel/caramel, spectator or two-tone pumps or flats, tapestry Really outside the box: yellow, red, animal prints (snake, cheetah, zebra), floral prints or polka dots Have fun! Would love to know what you choose!

judy&steve Posted December 21, 2009 #12 Share Posted December 21, 2009 Green, red, bright purple, luggage color brown boots, I could go on and on. I just also got a pair of navy velvet jeans, which I am wearing with a bright chartreuse boxy jacket and green python and kind ballet flats. I think whatever you can wear with denim, you can wear with navy. I would love to see then with bright red or a gorgeous royal purple! --Judy (too many pairs of identical flats in different colors!) Andee Posted December 21, 2009 #13 Share Posted December 21, 2009 I have some pewter flats that seem to look good with just about everything.
lovethesun30 Posted December 21, 2009 #14 Share Posted December 21, 2009 If you are going casual, I agree with the brown or grey.... If you are going fancy or snazzy, I'd go with a metallic silver with rhinestones in a stilletto heal. :) Depends on the top too....I'd go with a silver hanky, drape type shirt..... royalcruz Posted December 21, 2009 #15 Share Posted December 21, 2009 Black patent leather looks great with navy velvet and won't look like you tried to color match and failed.
Bonnie Voyager Posted December 21, 2009 #16 Share Posted December 21, 2009 Dark burgundy or mahogany is also a nice color with navy pants. Something like these, if you are just looking for casual shoes...
simplelife Posted December 22, 2009 #17 Share Posted December 22, 2009 I love matallics, They are my favorite neutral Right now I am really in love with pewter and bronze.
Jane110 Posted December 29, 2009 #18 Share Posted December 29, 2009 I would go with Cognac colored leather. You have to try on the shoes w/ the pants and make sure it's all in balance. Shoe/heel shape is critical with jean silhouette and hem width.
