"LIVE" From the Oasis of the Seas / March 6, 2010

Radio -- I do have a question for you. How comfortable were the chairs on the balcony? While I like the idea of the table, we spend ALOT of time out there and they just don't look all that comfortable to me.

Thanks!

They were very comfortable. . . I really liked the high table also !

Radio, I think the balcony chair and table look great!!! I'm glad they put high tables on the Oasis because the low tables on the other ships just don't cut it. Every time I fill out those questionnaires at the end of a cruise I write they should have a higher table on the balcony.

Can't wait for your Bermuda cruise live post. Can you talk to the captain about putting high tables on the Explorer or at least on my cabin balcony............LOL We'll be getting on for the 9 nighter as your getting off.

Radio, Do you happen to know if the Seafood Shack was open for lunch on embarkation day? I asked this on Oasis board but no response. Thanks, and I'm still enjoying your thread. The pictures are WONDERFUL!!! Thank you so much for your trouble.

Order from the MENU, Eggs. Bacon, Suasage, toast, Pancakes, Waffles, Cereal, Coffee, Juice etc.

We walked by and looked at the Menu, but we did not eat there.

Our cabin is also on deck 8 toward the stern so we will only have to go down two decks to get breakfast without having to go to the WJ. I think I will like that.

Radio,

You mentioned renting a car in St. Maarten. What was the cost and what were the requirements to rent a car? Did you have to have a special license? Or, was your your regular license good enough? We'll be there on the 31st and the car renting idea sounds cool. I'm looking forward to Maho Beach! Do you have to get off the ship early before the cars run out?

Thanks,

Tony

We paid $60 for the day. We used my regular Maryland Drivers License.

We did get off of the ship early. . .there were 5 Rental Car buildings just past the Bus Excursion Pick up area (Inside the Port Facility grounds)

The rental agents are very aggressive. . . It's not like renting a car at the Airport. . .

(St Thomas Car Rental was much more civilized)

I din't spend much time in the Diamond Lounge on Deck 6, but I though it was in a nice location.

The only time I saw anyone in there was in the morning (7-9AM) for Coffee. . .
