"LIVE" From the Oasis of the Seas / March 6, 2010

Recommended Posts

>SNIP< Did you have any opportunity to see or get any information on the Central Park view cabins (w/o balcony)? I know you had a Cat D balcony, but we are booked on Oasis for next April for a family of 4 and the pricing makes this category more attractive than a balcony (and bigger too). However, if it feels to cramped or the location is not decent, I'll spend the difference and lose some space to go up to the balcony cabin. >SNIP<

Yes. . . I met some friends at the meet and Mingle (Crusing Bubba), and they were nice enough to invite us to their cabin (Central Park View-Non Balcony) It appears that the Central Park View and Promenade View cabins are identical to the Balcony Cabins. . . which is very nice. The view is superb, and I think you will enjoy your room !

Crusing Bubba had a problem with their room, and were upgraded to a Balcony Central Park cabin, which again is identical to the Ocean View Balcony cabins. . .

Thanks again Radio for including us all in your Oasis cruise.

I am headed down to our TA's office in about an hour to pick up our Oasis docs for our 4/17 cruise. Looking at your pics and reading your notes make me feel comfortable with the ship and we have not even seen her in person yet!

There is a rental fee for Lounge Chairs and umbrellas.($5/ea) Little Divi Bay is the closest, and only about 3 miles... Maho Beach is over by the Airport, and could take about 45-60 to get there (It took us almost an hour due to traffic)

The Rental car will cost $50-$75, depending on the car. We always rent a car, so we can do several things. There were many people there that took a taxi to Maho. One couple saild it cost them $25 ea way plus tip.

Last time we were in St. Maarten we went on a tour and ended at Orient.... but I love the idea of going to Divi.... so just so I get this right you just go there and pay for a lounger and umbrella and you get use of their beach? Any other facilities there food/restrooms etc?

Thanx

Wow, thanks Radio. This is wonderful news (except for the fact that Crusin Bubba had problems and ended up having to move...might not want that cabin). If he's on line, maybe he'll see this and post to me so I can get some more info from someone who has actually been in these rooms.

Hey Radio, I was just looking at your link to your Oasis cabin photos. WOW...you sure do an awesome job taking pictures of every angle and detail.

We noticed that the cabins on the Oasis seemed much smaller than Radiance or Voyager class ships....looking at the RC web site and comparing square foot cabin size they are a bit smaller. ......what is your opinion on how they compare?

Hope your first day back to work wasn't too rough!! :D

TIA

You can use the beach for NO Charge. . . It is a St Maarten Govt' Facility (Beach)

You can rent the chairss from the Little Divi Resort. They will walk around and take your order for food and drink. There are changing rooms, and bathrooms to use as well.

Radio -- I do have a question for you. How comfortable were the chairs on the balcony? While I like the idea of the table, we spend ALOT of time out there and they just don't look all that comfortable to me.

Thanks!

I am wanting to know the same thing but perhaps for a different reason. I am a larger person and am afraid I may not fit, if that is the case, do they have other chairs they can bring to you?
