stipmom Posted April 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2010 cruise in June or July or will I have to go on Princess?
ocngypz Posted April 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2010 Both Princess and Cunard have good itineraries. It was never a good seller for Celebrity. When last available..... they dropped rates so low.. inside cabins were barely more than the port charges and taxes.
netorders Posted April 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2010 I have been searching for a British Isle cruise for 2011 as well. there doesn't seem to be too much out there. Princess seems to be the only game in town right now. If you find an alternative, please share. thanks
katiebeth Posted April 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2010 We sailed on the Constellation in July of 2003 on a British Isles itinerary and it was one of our favorite cruises. The ports were fantastic with stops in France, Belgium, Ireland, Scotland, and the Norwegian fjords. We have also done the Med. twice and the Baltics, but definitely preferred the British Isles to the Baltics. I am surprised that this itinerary is not a sell-out. I noticed that the new Oceania ship Marina has a terrific British Isles itinerary in July of 2011. Happy Sailings, Nancy
junglejane Posted April 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2010 We did the British Isles on the Crown Princess last summer and loved it. The ship is slightly bigger than I'd like but it was an excellent itinerary. I highly recommend it.
beachnative Posted April 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2010 We had hoped for a Celebrity itinerary for the British Isles but have lost hope and booked with Princess on the Crown. The two routes appear interesting unfortunately the one we booked tenders in four ports...not ideal! If Celebrity becomes available we'll gladly switch.:)
Rare hcat Posted April 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2010 If they or Royal C ever have one we'll definitely take it--that'd be ourfirst choice for Europe- -I don't think it will be happening for awhile & would hate to switch over to another line just for one cruise.. Denny01 Posted April 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2010 We were hoping for a Brit Isles Celebrity cruise also, but no go. Probably go with a Baltic instead. Yes, Princess has a UK cruise, but so does HAL. It has a a few Norway/Brit mixes in Jul 11. Looking at those too. Denny
tiffnco Posted April 14, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2010 WE did a British Isles cruise on the Jewel of the Seas about 4 years ago and it was WONDERFUL. I'm sad to hear that neither X or RCCL is sailing this anymore. FANTASTIC ports and one of our favorite cruises ever.
stipmom Posted April 14, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Looks like I am going to wind up on the Crown Princess. I prefer other cruise lines but they have the best itinerary.
Denny01 Posted April 14, 2010 #11 Share Posted April 14, 2010 RCCL has one cruise in 11 June '11 that is a Norway/Brit Isle mix. Denny
2Canucks Posted April 14, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 14, 2010 I'm so disappointed with Celebrity. No British Isle cruises in Sept 2010 or 2011. They had a great British Isles cruise in Sept 2009 but they haven't brought that itinerary back. :( Therefore we are booked on RCCL's "Jewel of the Seas" for the Sept 3 2011 Transatlantic cruise.:D Denny we'll be cruising with you on the Millie's Wine Cruise Sept 17, 2010. Pat :)
