Aussie/Kiwi Power Points On Pacific Pearl?

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing because the Pacific Pearl is coming from a UK base that the power on board will be 240v. I'm also guessing that they will change the power points in the cabins to the Aussie/Kiwi three pin version. Is this the case on the Pacific Jewel that came from the same Ocean Village UK line?

I have heard that providing appropriate power outlets will be part of the refurb. Can't wait to see her.:)

I noticed your photo of her as OV1 and thought you might like this one of her as Sitmar's Fair Majesty?

Hi Sandy, Yes I think she looked great in Sitmar colours too, here she is as Star Princess:)

Thanks Single Cruiser for the great Arcadia photo.

I find the constant name changing to be very confusing:confused::confused:

I guess the plus side is that after their December 2010 sailing, Kiwi Sailor can legitimately add the list - Fair Majesty, Star Princess, Arcadia, Ocean Village 1 and Pacific Pearl to their signature.:D

Impressive Huh!!

Looks like the Ocean Village aka Pacific Pearl has got the P&O Australia curse already in that she broke down on a recent cruise, but was up and running again the next morning.

There can be mechanical problems with any ships/planes/trucks/buses/cars. It is just that we hear about P & O and (by association) now Ocean Village 1. We don't hear when a ship based in the USA has problems. :)

How old is she? Sitmar went out of business years ago.

Fair Majesty was the last ship built for Sitmar.

Sitmar was bought by P&O and renamed Princess Cruises, so that P&O could have a cruise line based in the USA.

We sailed on her as Arcadia, from Hong Kong to Sydney and she is a lovely ship, however I am still of two minds whether to book a cruise on her now, as I am sure she will have changed from what I remember her as.

You never spoke a truer word Aus T. I cannot believe that the ONLY ships that break down belong to P&O.

Its nice to hear positive things from someone who has travelled on her. :)

I personally I am hoping that because she was designed and built for Sitmar Cruises she should be a gracious, well designed ship with a great atmosphere, then she should become a favorite. I hope she hasn't been altered too much from her original specs by P & O. We are planning to book on her in 2011.

You could always do one of these 3 day cruise out of Auckland :), and if you don’t like her & then its only for 3 days, not longer.

The changes that I can see from her current deck plan to the Pacific Pearl deck plan is that the Cinema is being converted into the Casino and the Gym on the lower deck and Beauty Salon are changing shape.
