What menu items/dishes are not to be missed...

The escargot is outstanding, and all our tablemates...even those who were hesitant to try them, but finally did...agreed and ordered seconds. I also found the various chilled soups were excellent, as were the various lamb entrees.

I just love the chilled soups...especially the fruit ones. I have tried to make these at home but they never quite taste the same.

I wonder why?

Must be the fact that I am not cruising...ya think? :D

P.S. And creme brulee, and Souffle, and escargot......!!!!

Let's see, there's too much to choose from.

But the first appetizer that comes to mind is the scallop risotto. I'd say one of the best main courses was probably the fisherman's plate. Dessert is the one I have the strongest opinion on :D: the flowerless chocolate cake in the trio of desserts was amazing.

Count me as one of the few who doesn't get the love so many have for the savory bites. Every night when the bread was placed on the table, I grabbed them (DH didn't want any) and found them completely unremarkable. And I am a total bread hound normally!:p

The same with the honey stung chicken. As soon as we got the the Windjammer on boarding, I made a beeline for the chicken...once again, not impressed.

Favorite Appetizer: Vidalia Onion Tart

Favorite Entre: Roasted Lamb Shank with Root Vegetables

Favorite Desert: Warm Chocolate Cake with Pears

Of course, as already mentioned, the chocolate chip cookies from the promenade cafes are totally delicious!

IMO, the best food is reserved for the specialty restaurants. Chops and Portofino offer stunning food that tickles the palate. If you are on Oasis, Izumi and 150 Central Park have some of the best food on the seas.

I would recommend trying it all! :D You just might find something you absolutely love!

Happy Eating,
