Hey fellow cruisers!

 

DH and I are sitting here (9 weeks out) from our cruise and we were talking about all the drinks we are going to have :eek:. We both agree to try some new ones we've never had before so we are looking for a little inspiration. Please post your drink porn so we can start making a list of the "gotta try" drinks.

One of my favourites...

Try a Kilt Lifter... (some call it a Wee Willie)

Teacher's Scotch and Drambuie

 

And if you are really looking for something special..

Aalborg Akvavit... must come straight out if the freezer and served in a frozen, conical shot glass so it can not be set down. Straight down the throat in one gulp...

At first, it anaesthetizes your throat and then a few moments later you'll get the bloom come back through your nose...

 

You are allowed to follow it up with a Tuborg Guld Ol.

 

(unfortunately, Carnival likely won't have the Akvavit.)

I was hoping for some pics and this fits the bill because it is my favorite drink!

 

I can practically taste it now :D

i got ya ;)

 

the long island iced teas are very good... and it comes with a bonus... as one of the 'signature cocktails', you get a 5.00 casino MATCH with it... so, for 8.75, you get a 5.00 casino match - which, if you use it, makes the drink 3.75. which is a damn good deal!

 

here's the poster they used to advertise this promotion on my last sailing (and a few of these drinks are pictured therein):

Unfortunately they have discontinued the bucket o' beer with MGDs (which they had last year :confused:) so DH will just have to partake of more crown and cokes! :eek:

I don't have any pictures, but I like the Lime Daquiri that they serve at the Past Guest Party. Sex on the Beach is good also.

 

I also like the Miami Vice (1/2 Pina Colada, 1/2 strawberry daquiri) - drink is poured side by side, and the Twilight Zone (its a blue drink).

 

Twilight Zone (from the Carnival Cocktails book)

1 fl oz Bacardi Light Rum

1/2 fl oz De Kuyper-Melon Liqueur

1 1/2 fl ozs Coconut Cream

5 ozs crushed ice

Float De Kuyper - Blue Curacao

 

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour into glass and float the blue curacao over the top. (Some of the bartenders swirl the blue curacao around the glass.) Stick an umbrella with a slice of pineapple and a cherry.

I suppose you could be advertureous and get the deal of the day (DoD)...There a different one each day and each comes in a different "cup".

 

I always have to have at least ONE, Miami Vice, I love them mmmmmmm but I am a beer drinker at heart and when not drinking a dod or the occasional Miami Vice I am enjoying an ice cold Foster's! (Austrailan for Beer!)...:D:D

Try Tequila--GOOD TEQUILA-NOT Cuervo but instead Cassadores,Sauza Commemrativo or Tres Generanciones either straight--sip it--it's very good or milder on the rocks with Amarretto=YUMMY. WARNING NOT TO BE SLAMMED!!Unless YOU want to get SLAMMED. Honestly though the better quality Tequilla doesn't give the bad hangover that rotgut does-sip it like a fine Cognac. I've always liked Mexicans better then the French. That Cognac just abused me. LOL

.....I thought I was fine, until falkor made 2 Long Island Iced Tea posts.

 

That's what I always order at dinner with my drink coupons. Now falkor made me sad. :(

I thought I could handle it, not having a LIIT till I cruise in August. I'm going out right now to get one!

 

I wonder if I'll get the $5 match play card?
