Question about b2b cruises

Recommended Posts

We just got off the Freedom and had a wonderful time. On our way home we were thinking about some day doing a b2b. If you do an Eastern Caribbean then a Western one, is all the entertainment on the ship exactly the same? We thought the shows were great, but not sure about seeing them a 2nd time the next week. The same goes with the ice show. Do they do a different routine the following week?

would you have to disembark from the first cruise and get back on go

through security again?? or if you are doing back to back

can you keep your room and leave your luggage there ??

or do they make you disembark?

I took a back to back cruise on the Explorer in February.

You can stay in the same cabin if the cabin is available for both cruises at the time of booking.

I was not able to do so, as I had booked late.

The entertainment was the same, I believe. Since I don't care to see every show, that didn't bother me. The ice show on the second cruise was different, and I enjoyed both.

The waiters and assistants and all the bartenders were repositioned on the second cruise. My favorite bartender went from Dizzie's to the Champagne bar etc.

We did have to disembark after the first cruise, but it was just a formality because of immigration. I was contacted by Guest relations the day before and we all met shortly after everyone had already disembarked. We were a small group of only 7 and were escorted, with our passports and cruise card in hand, off the ship, walked through immigration (no lines), given our new cruise card for the second cruise, and went back onboard. The whole process took no longer than 15 minutes.

The cabin attendent from my first cruise moved my clothes on hangers to my new cabin, and also carried my other belongings.

They usually have a special luncheon for the back to back cruisers, but they didn't in our case for some reason. We were told that it was because of our very small group.

My husband and I took b/b cruises about 10 years ago, and were fortunate enough to stay in the same cabin. I suggesst that you book early enough in order to do so as well, as it makes things a bit easier.

Happy Cruising, Ginnie

We did the FOS B2B Eastern/Western Caribbean cruise last December. We had prebooked our stateroom, so could leave everything on board. We did have to disembark, but we took advantage of the Kennedy Space Center excursion to fulfil a childhood dream of mine!

Some headline acts had changed, some were the same. The production shows were identical, as were the ice shows.

Although some 700 folk had stayed aboard to do the B2B, the rest were new and that livened the second week up. I was a tad disappointed that the CD told exactly the same jokes as on the first week.............

Each ship and port handles consecutive cruisers differently in so far as staying on board or having to get off on turnaround day.

We just returned from a consecutive cruise on Serenade where there were about 50-60 of us. We met the day before debarkation and were given instructions on what to expect on Saturday. We were able at this time to sign up for the special luncheon in the MDR on Saturday at this time. They also offered us a special 2 for 1 at Chops for Saturday evening which we signed up for.

On Saturday if we wanted to exit the ship prior to 11:30 we had to get our new SeaPass cards from GR prior to 8AM. If we wanted to leave the ship after 11:30AM, then we met in the Theater at 10AM where we were given our new SeaPass cards and a green slip that said "in transit".

If we left the ship after 11:30, we were to show the "in transit" slips to the pier reps and this indicated to them that we were consecutive cruises and didn't need to check in again.

Any alcohol purchased on the first part of your consecutive is supposed to be held until the end of your second cruise...........that's if the cabin attendant that you have is doing their job correctly.

You only need to fill our one Customs Declaration Form which would be a total of all purchases made during both weeks.

Was your Kennedy Space Centre excursion an organised one through RCI or did you arrange this yourselves? We are on the FOS B2B in August and were hoping to get over to the Space Centre on the turnaround day.

We have done four back to back cruises and on the Radiance the first week we went to the game show with a newlywed, someone married 10 or more years and then someone married over 30 years. Funny the first time around however we attended the same show on the second portion of the cruise with different people on the panel and some of the answers were EXACTLY THE SAME. Appears the were feeding the answers that would get laughs.

Menu in the main dining room is the same, food in the Windjammer was the same for each day of the week however there were many different food groups to select from. Although there were many things repeated we still have great times on our b2b cruises

When you do a B2B do you have to print out set sail forms for both cruises?

No, just the SetSail Pass for the first cruise. Everything is automatically transferred from one cruise to the next. When the first cruise is over, your account is closed and a new account is opened.

When you do your on line check-in, there is a page that you will indicate whether you are a consecutive cruise or what your travel plans are after the end of the first cruise.

What we usually do is decide what we want to do during the first week and save some activities for the second week. It's great to say, we're tired so we can wait to do that next week.

Thank you that was very helpful. The set sail is printed out and ready to go. I had never noticed that consecutive cruise option before.

And sometimes they actually transfer everything over...sometimes not!

We've done a few....on Ex we have been told to fill out 2 customs forms (not that it makes much sense...since you're in transit and can't take anything off the ship til you go thru customs...)

We've never had a luncheon...last time on Ex, due to the extreme cold and snow, small number of b2bers and my mom in a wheelchair, the guest admin officer (who is a gem, hope she's here this time!) somehow got customs to allow us to stay on the ship.....that is not the norm, but i must say she went above and beyond. i think there were say 8 pax and maybe a few musicians..of the 8 pax, 7 were 'seasoned citizens' so it was nice of RCI and ICE to permit us to be 'cleared'.

B2Bs (a/k/a consecutive cruises) are really fun!!!

Yes, it was. it was a great trip for spacehounds like me, but due to the timings sadly we didn't get to meet an actual astronaut

If you filled out the info regarding the consecutive cruise option, I would reprint your SetSail Pass so that it is included with all of your other information.

We are doing a B2B on the Liberty Of the Seas March 2011. I’ve completed all on line check in for both reservations. So is the consecutive cruise option only shown when the SetSail Pass is ready to print? I didn't see the opion when I first completed the on line check in.
