Ship - Jewel of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8622

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - don't remember - midship cabin, yes I would be OK booking this room again.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet stateroom

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - NO

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The jewel did have a cover over the lifeboats so I would not recommend Deck 7 however deck 8 is one above the overhang and I don't feel that our view was restricted - we were about 10 cabins down from the hump so the hump did not restrict our view either, not too far from the elevators.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal

Was wind a problem? - no, the wind could be on either side of the ship so it depended on which way it was blowing but I don't specifically recall any wind issues.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - not an aft

Any specific problems with this cabin? - no issues with this cabin

Any other comments? - none - all was good

ship - Radiance of the Seas

deck - 10

stateroom # 1550

stateroom category – grand suite

starboard or port side - starboard

quiet stateroom? (with comments on problems) –

very quiet apart from 1 dance night on the pool deck above. We could barely hear the music & beat; it was not loud or annoying at all.

was stateroom a connecting stateroom?

no

balcony view - give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The balcony was great! Large overhang offered protection from sun or rain. Plenty of room for round table, two chairs and a deck lounge. Unobstructed view forward to the bridge and down to the sea. Looking aft, balconies on the hump can be seen but no worries.

balcony size? Normal or oversized for class? - 1st cruise; can't compare.

was wind a problem? - no.

if an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

any specific problems with this cabin? None whatsoever. There were three of us; left sofa bed "out" all of the time and used cupboards beneath bar for extra clothes. Extra cupboards behind main bathroom mirrors were surprising. Bath and shower were much better than expected.

any other comments? - See photos below; we loved it!

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No noise noticeable

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Nice view off back of ship, view of wake. No Obstruction

Was wind a problem? -no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - no

Ship - Mariner of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # -1688

Stateroom Category – Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Aft (Port)

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Slight obstruction of the view but good enough for us. View of the wake was great! An overhead bar that stretches down from the ceiling to the floor of the balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized for class definitely.

Was wind a problem? -No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - A long walk to the nearest elevator. No other problems, it was awesome.

Any other comments? - A really good cabin for its cabin class and price

Ship - Brilliance of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1092

Stateroom Category – Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Somewhat. We did hear chairs moving in the Windjammer above us.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No obstructions. Balcony shaded at all times.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - It was a longer (wider) balcony, but only had two sitting chairs and a table. Not enough depth for lounge chairs I guess.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Room was great. Plenty of space. Bathroom had a tub, so if you are tall and taking a shower, you come pretty close to hitting your head.

Any other comments? - A longer walk to the room, but we never minded it. Would book it again!

Ship - Rhapsody of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9352

Stateroom Category – Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard (You're making me think here)

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – IT was very quiet. Deck 9 is just below the pool deck/running track etc. We never heard anything.

On the other hand, we were just a few doors down from the Centrum and we could hear some of the shows going on there. But it couldn't have too much of a problem because we slept through 90% of a aerial show, which we had wanted to see. Usually the sound told us to get a movin'

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The balcony was great. No obstructions straight ahead, but the expanded floor for deck 10 did create an overhang for us. It made it harder to take panaromic photos, or regular photos looking upwards. (And since we were on an Alaskan cruise, I often times shot upwards to get pix of mountains and glaciers.)

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - It seemed normal, but our JS on Liberty seemed like a bigger room and a bigger balcony.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A (which could stand for not applicable, or not aft)

Any specific problems with this cabin? - We had no problems.

Any other comments? - This was the first JS we had ever booked, but it ended up being the 2nd were in. The JS on Liberty seemed bigger all the way around. Liberty is a much bigger ship too. Perhaps that had something to do with it, perhaps not. Perhaps it was because we weren't in shorts all the time. But it was fine and I would take it again.

Ship - Independence

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9648

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – first cabin on the rear hump, limited view looking forward unobstructed looking aft. Easy for cabin before the hump to look into balcony and vise versa

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - I've never been in a JS on this class before. There was 2 non reclining loungers, 2 chairs and 1 small table. Enough room to have 4 people to enjoy drinks while sitting comfortably.

Was wind a problem? -the divider between the forward cabin rattled with the wind (fixed with a piece of folded paper)

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems

Any other comments? - there seemed to be a lot of wasted space where the picture window is, two people could fit between the curtain and the window. There was also wasted space between the curtain and sliding door. Great closet and close to the elevators and stairs by the WindJammer. Would book again.

There is a spot on Cruise Critic where you can find reviews of individual cabins by people that had the cabin. Not sure if it's 100% of every cabin on board but there are enough reviews by class if cabin to give you a good idea.

Do you know what that board is called? I'd be very interested to hear about cabin 9572 on Allure of the Seas? Too close to the elevator re noise? Any obstructions, etc. Bed by balcony? Thank you.

Ship - Grandeur of the Seas

Deck - 2

Stateroom # - 2098

Stateroom Category – Ocean View

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, except for a little noise from a crying baby next door. We heard absolutely nothing else, and even the crying baby was WAY quieter than would have been the case in a regular hotel. It wasn't enough to keep us awake, or wake us up. But while awake, we could hear it a little.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes

Balcony View - No balcony

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Ship - Legend of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8078

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Totally quiet. Since this is the aftmost cabin on the port side there was only one neighbor. The spa was located above us on Deck 9, but on the entire eight night cruise there was no noise from there, whatsoever.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View was OK forward and sideways; backwards, the contraption that slides along the side of the ship used by the crew for cleaning the exterior was normally parked just behind this stateroom, which obstructed the view somewhat in this direction. No big deal in my view though.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No, it was a good cabin.

Any other comments? - It was a relatively long walk to the WindJammer as well as to some of the entertainment venues (Theater and Anchors Aweigh lounge). We noticed that some guests with reduced mobility had problems with this. In our case, this was the last JS available, so we had no choice. Given a choice, we would have preferred a midship cabin.
