Getting thrown off ship

Recommended Posts

I was talking to a friend of mine the other night about people not following rules and getting tossed off the ship. She asked and I couldn't answer - if you are traveling with a person, over 18, who doesn't behave and they get kicked off - do you get kicked off with them? Or can you stay and wave goodbye to them and their stuff from your balcony?

Unless an accompanying person was involved in the incident that led to the other person being asked to leave, then they should be okay.

However each situation is judged by the Ships Captain and GSM at the time. So to be safe, be good. :D

Read a blog yesterday where a 55 year old man was asked to quiet down during muster drill on a Carnival ship. The man then punched the crew member in the stomach (crew member asked him to be quiet so other folks could hear the muster directions).

He and his female companion were immediately escorted off the ship and left at the pier.

I don't know what her involvement was, (if any) but you never know what the Captain and staff will decide to do if there is a problem.

He deserved more than to be kicked off the ship. He should have been arrested. His companion got to suffer from his behavior. Let's hope she didnt' let it go. People need to remember their behavior affects others besides themselves.

On the report with this incident, she did have the option to stay on the ship but decided to depart the ship.

Well, if he punches people he doesn't know or doesn't agree with you have to wonder how he treats her. My guess is she's probably afraid of him and that's why she left with him. Regardless, my point was he should have been arrested.

You have to be 21 to book a cabin. I'm pretty sure if it is a minor that gets booted, the adult goes with them as they are responsbile. On our first cruise, a couple of young men were removed from the ship for some pot. The 19 year old was the one caught, but they booted both the 21 year old and 19 year old.

Back in the 70's when the Song of Norway was sailing, I distinctly remember a gentleman being escorted off the ship. Seems he was drunk and showed up at the Captain's party in bare feet. I guess by today's standards that was pretty tame, but still enough for him to be put off.
