Hello everyone. . . Welcome to Day 4 of “LIVE” from the Enchantment of the Seas ! What a difference a day makes. . . . I woke up this morning early (like I always do), and was happy to see that the Seas were calm, and the skies were much clearer than they have been over the last several days.

I was able to use the Solarium pool, and it was nice being able to relax for a few minutes before the sun came up. The water felt like it was heated ? I will try to use the freshwater pool later in the week.

We only have about 68nm to go until we arrive. We are scheduled to dock in Old San Juan, at Pier 3 with Serenade of the Seas. The Port schedule also calls for 2 Carnival ships to be there as well. I am not sure of any itinerary changes that may call for the plans to differ.

I don’t have an excursion planned, but I know I will go over to the Sheraton Hotel in Old San Juan. It is always good to get a few pics from the rooftop pool area. I am also sure that I will be visiting the Casino in the same hotel.

I see that there is a new Starbucks a few blocks away from the Starbucks I have been visiting for years in san Juan ( nice. . . Maybe they will accept my gift card that I received from my DD for my Birthday?) I may make it over to El Morro Fortress, depending on the weather.

The forecast for today is warm weather (78F), and partial clouds. I can live with that !

Here are a few pics from last night and this morning. . .

Thanks for tuning in !

I'm thoroughly enjoying your report Radio! We're sailing on Enchantment on Dec.27th. Have you been to the fitness center? Just wondering what type of facilities are offered-such as a sauna or steam room.

Thanks for posting you wonderful pics!

That's so exciting - we're sailing on Allure in May 2011......and you're not on the roll call for my sailing....which must mean you're going 2 weeks before (same W. Carib itinerary)..... so your live post will be perfect timing to whet my appetite a bit more (like I need the extra encouragement :D) before we sail! Yippee!!

(Alternatively you could be on the same cruise & just not appeared in the roll call as yet. Which would be just as exciting!)

Great thread BTW, as ever. Keep em' coming

Hello Radio

I have always love your postings and your pictures are unbelievable!!! We are scheduled to sail on the Enchantment of the Seas next year. I was on the Enchantment many years ago before they made it bigger. At that time the Enchantment of the Seas was my favoite ship. I know your last cruise was on the Oasis of the Seas and also my last two cruises were also on the Oasis of the Seas. How does it feel to be on a smaller and older ship? It appears that they did not upgrade the Televisions in the cabins to flat screens. How does the ship look? Just wondering what are your thoughts!

Thank you and enjoy your cruise!!!

Leaving on the Enchantment on the 18th so this is making me so excited!

Radio, you mention Boleros had great music, what kind of music do they play? Is there a nightclub with a DJ on board?

Thanks! Enjoy your trip and keep posting.

:) Appreciate the time and detail your are putting in your review. I believe you stated the first formal night was Saturday (6th). Would the 2nd formal night would be Thursday or Friday?

After reading your review I can hardly wait until I sail on her in May.

Thanks for a great job.

Hey Radio,

Just got here and you're on my favorite ship with my favorite Schooner configuration.

Looking forward to sailing with you again even if it's not the same as being there.

I know you're the master of the live picture trips but let's see if you can recognize this location even with the distraction:

Ha ha ! That was nice. . . Hmmm. . . .Schooner Bar ? I haven't seen anyone like that on this ship though :D

Do they offer coconuts on board ?

Hello everyone. . . We have arrived in San Juan. The Pilot was picked up at about 1PM, and we guided slowly into the Harbor.

I was all wrong when I said we would be docking at Pier 3 previously. . .Ooops. . .

It turns out that we will be docked at Pier 1 instead of Pier 3, as I originally thought. I know that the port authority had to remove the sculpture from Pier 2, and I am surprised that RCI is not docking there. (RCI originally built Pier 2 , along with Puerto Rico back in 2007.)

Oh well. . . maybe I got it all wrong ? We are docked at the Passenger Terminal with Carnival Victory. . .

We tied up earlier than scheduled, and passengers should be allowed off of the ship soon. An ambulance pulled up, to take care of a passenger. I hope all turns out well for them.

Here are a few pics from our approach to San Juan. . . More pics later.

Love your posts, infact I am going back to read about the other ships you have done. I sail on her the 18 of Nov so this really is fun to watch.

So I am in an older room, I guess 7060 which is a D1, what room are you in as it looks like maybe what mine will be. ARe there full size shampoo or anything like that, can I request a mini refrig like the "newer"ones have?

Is the water heated in any of the pools, and what is the difference between fresh and salt, as far as swimming?? Cake decorating, is it free, are many of the programs free on board? Is the bingo the same cost as other Royal ships, we have saild FOS twice...any chance you have the daily activites from Enchanment that we can see?

We sailed in May on FOS and I think you and your wife were suppose to be on that ship...we thought of you much when you had to reschdule...maybe becoming a travel agent or writer is in your future...I love what I am seeing.

Are the older rooms really that much older beds needing replaced or outside covers?

Thanks

nana&poppop10 ...Parking at Baltimore is very easy and convenient. You park on the pier, right in front of the ship, to one side of the terminal building. The charge is $15 per day. You pay by cash or charge, on your way in. You circle the lot before you park to drop your bags with the longshoremen and then go around again to park. You have a very short walk into the terminal building. When you return, there are porters available to assist you with your bags back to the car.;)

The last time we were in San Juan I thought we were going to die from the HEAT while walking those hills....have you tried the free trolley service provided there? I was just reading about it today!

When we did Serenade last April we took a taxi into OSJ from our hotel and then took the trolley all over. It has 13 or 15 stops........can't remember. But it does stop at both forts. It really was the best way to get around.
