whirlybird3 Posted December 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2010 We just upgraded to a Deluxe Suite on ms Oosterdam :) I have read that there are refreshments through out the day in the Neptune Lounge. Can anyone give me some insight on what may be served? Is there a cocktail hour in the evening?
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2010 There are no alcoholic beverages served in the Neptune Lounge. From 7 AM until around 11 AM -- you can get a Continental breakfast of cold cereal, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, rolls, pastries and some ships have a toaster that you make toast, bagels or English Muffins. There is also fresh squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice, iced water, choices of teas and a coffee machine that you can have lattes, cappacinos's, regular and decaf coffees (this machine is available all day). From 11 AM until around 5 PM -- various tea sandwiches and wraps are available along with small desserts, cookies, chocolates, pound cake. At 5 PM until closing round 8 - 8:15 cold appetizers are available along with cruidites.
Rare kazu Posted December 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2010 Neptune Lounge - a nice place to go. Wi fi is available in it and along with the lovely coffee machine, you have your concierge service. They do absolutely everything for you. do not go to the front desk. Just go to the neptune lounge. If you want dinner in your suite, they will arrange it, shore excursions, dinner reservations, anything. Don't forget - you don't have to pack as much. You will have free laundry, pressing and dry cleaning. what a nice upgrade. Enjoy your cruise :D:D

e_brick Posted December 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2010 1st on your to-do list is to say hello to the Neptune concierge and give your name(s). Tell how much you like the... suite, ship, lounge, crew so far, etc. You will instantly be a part of her family! There will probably be a line of people with requests for the concierge, but put the meet and greet as a priority. Use the tray under the ice bucket to carry those snacks and cups back to your suite from the Neptune. If you are low on ice and no room steward around, just take the ice bucket to the concierge and she'll bring it back to your suite for you. Do make an effort to attend the suite passengers cocktail party, just to say hello to the staff who make a special effort to attend. You will see them around the ship and they like to be recognized too. Wife and I on the Oosterdam Dec. 26 and will use the Neptune alot. -Bruce -Bruce
DAllenTCY Posted December 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2010 Fair warning.....once you have been spoiled by the Neptune Lounge, you won't want to go back to a standard verandah stateroom. Much like the first time you ever had an ocean view as opposed to an inside, and a lot like the first time you had a balcony instead of an ocean view. Crazy Gramps Posted December 16, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2010 Welcome to heaven. You won't ever go to the lobby help desk, You will have your own personal assistant. Want something? Need something? book a trip? Room service. There they are , Super Concierge. No booze but the best coffee in the world, fresh brewed. It's you home away from home. Last night your cruise neighbor was in an elegant evening gown perfectly made up. Now it's before breakfast and she just rolled out of bed in her jammies and she's on the hunt for coffee. That's how the Neptune is used. Yeah, it's like crack. Gramps

califgary Posted December 17, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Can the folks in Neptune Lounge do the FCC's as well or is that still with the cruise consultant?
momatibm Posted December 17, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Can the folks in Neptune Lounge do the FCC's as well or is that still with the cruise consultant? Last time, the future cruise consultant had a separate schedule for the suite guests in the Neptune lounge. I would ask the Concierge if that is true for your sailing. Krazy Kruizers Posted December 17, 2010 #11 Share Posted December 17, 2010 On our recent Nieuw Amsterdam you had to ask the concierge to arrange an appointment to see the FCC privately -- no special day or time set aside for them to come and visit people in the Neptune Lounge on an open basis. juiceless Posted April 8, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 8, 2014 Neptune Lounge - a nice place to go. Wi fi is available in it and along with the lovely coffee machine, you have your concierge service. Hi Kazu - Just a question about this: You mention that there is Wi Fi available. Is this the same wifi available throughout the ship, or is it complementary? HALGirl Posted April 8, 2014 #16 Share Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) Sounds wonderful! Thank you for answering my question :) I believe there is another question you might have that was not answered...Neptune Suite Passengers get to have breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill. No reservation necessary, breakfast times are same as Main Dining Room. Talk about pampering? You have a staff of 5 to 7 waiting on you. One does juice, one does coffee/tea, another brings a tray of breakfast pastries and all this before another person takes your breakfast order. Great way to start the morning.
