mdeering Posted December 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2010 There is 2 cruises for the Zaandam (Jan-feb) and one listed for the Osterdam in April. Nothing listed for fall 2011 or Spring 2012. Is this the last of them? Thanks, Marilyn
cruisinjudy Posted December 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2010 I hope not. We really enjoy the Sea of Cortez!
solocanadian Posted December 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2010 I hope not. We really enjoy the Sea of Cortez! I hope not too. It's my favourite destination. I couldn't find anything on the HAL website. Guess we will just have to be patient & see. I prefer to stick to the West Coast because of the flying and I'm done with Alaska and their Head Tax, even though it's convenient from Vancouver.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2010 I wish HAL would go back to offering the 10 day Sea of Cortez and and the 10 day Mexican Riviera cruises as back-to-back cruises like they did a few years ago. They were well worth our flying across country to cruise them. One was offered for the Zaandam but it didn't fit our schedule.
Ine Posted December 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2010 The sea of Cortz is indeed one of the nicest cruises with interesting stops. Hopefully HAL will soon publish them again.
jbhcw Posted December 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2010 Also anxiously waiting to see if the Sea of Cortez is offered in 2012. That is one cruise I have wanted to do..even if it does mean flying cross country:)
IRL_Joanie Posted December 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2010 but.... What is the difference between the Sea of Cortez and the Mexican Riviera?? I mean, not the ports obviously, but the actual cruising?? Where is the Sea of Cortez in relationship to the Mexican Riviera?? Joanie
mdeering Posted December 28, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted December 28, 2010 Mexican Riviera is along the coast of Mexico, including Cabo. Sea of Cortez is east of Baja-very scenic, small towns, lots of wildlife. We went a couple of years ago and want to go again. But already have another cruise booked for this spring. I just wish HAL would release their schedules a little earlier. Thanks, Marilyn
Cruising-along Posted January 4, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 4, 2011 We asked for the new HAL brochure and got it in the mail today (The Americas 2011-2012). I'm very disappointed. The brochure, which is 131 pages long, has only 1 page for Mexico cruises, and there is no Sea of Cortez offered. :( This is what they have listed for 2012: 7-day Mexican Riviera Oosterdam Jan 7 and 28 Feb 18 March

Wouldn't even be able to do a b2b with that schedule. I loathe flying, and our last trip to Florida took far too long, so we'd much prefer a west coast embarkation point. Blech. Ine Posted January 4, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 4, 2011 If there is no Sea of Cortez with HAL, hopefully Carnival still has some. The itinary is so nice. We have friends that had to cancel their cruise due illness, they were hoping to do it next winter.
