Slot Pull: Questions on how to organize

Hello Ann - it is so gracious of you to continue to offer this for such a long time. I am in a CC group going out of Houston on Jan 25th, and they have discussed a slot pull but no one is willing to organize it. I am NOT volunteering yet (in case fellow travelers are lurking here :) but I might if it seems fairly simple as I am fairly simple myself ! If you would be so kind as to send me your spreadsheet and instructions, I would greatly appreciate it. E-mail is kimiruder@me.com. Thanks!

Ann,

Just got back from my Panama Cruise where we had our slot pull. Thanks for the spreadsheet template. It really helped us out.

We were on the Coral Princess and on the first day of our cruise, we went and spoke to the casino manager. He suggested a machine to use and on the day of our slot pull, he had the machine reserved for us. He also gave us a T-shirt and cap for the player with the highest pull and also $1 coupons for all of the players to use after our slot pull.

We each put in $9 (3-$3 hits) and ended up with $15 so we all ended up as winners and had lots of fun.

Thanks again for your help!

Thanks so much for reporting back on your Slot Pull experience. I am so very happy that it all worked out well for you and that you were all winners.n And it sounds like you may have had fun doing it also. Great news.

We had a slot pull on the Grand in October last year.

I thnk there were 2 caps as gifts but no extra coupons etc.

The manager set aside a machine for 20 of us.

We put in $10 each and we got $20 back

The machine did act up and they called in a person to fix it.

We were in a corner and it was too crowded.

Would participate again.

Not sure telling the manager ahead of time is the best idea as he could adjust the machine on the odds, couldn't he? Maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks for the observations on your Slot Pull. Personal opinion but yes, I fell that they could set the payout amount on the machine if they know in advance which one you are going to use for your Slot Pull. But happy to hear that you actually doubled your money. It is good for the Casino to have people in there cheering and getting excited as it can draw in others too.

Thanks again.

Are we having a slot pull for the 50th Pacfic Princess anniversary cruise! Just noticed you are on that special cruise! We are also on it but not totally sure as we also have to add on air and a hotel stay yet. The prices will not be going down on this cruise since there is a wait list.

Hi there,

I had offered early on last Spring when that 50th Anniversry cruise came up. After I knew I was on, I did suggest a Slot Pull. However, several said the Casino was too small and totally discouraged it. Personally I think with some extra planning it could be done but the attitude was not cordial. I am mum about it on the other thread for that cruise at this time.

But thank you for asking. Let me know if you are going to still try to go on this cruise after you decide.

Hi Ann' date='

I have been 'nominated' to organise my first ever slot pull. If it is not too much trouble, can you please email me your spreadsheet and instructions? Thanks in advance. [email']gillianparsons@btopenworld.com[/email]

I absolutely agree that I would not give the Casino advance warning of your arrival. I have run 2 slot pulls on 2 different ships. I never notified the Casino Manager in advance other than when we all walked into the casino. IMHO this gives them less time to "possibly" set the machine to pay off less. Maybe you would miss out on a free drink but I would rather win lots of money. The Casino manger and her staff were excellant when they saw so many people who were going to participate.

Here is what I posted on Cruise Critic on the thread for our cruise:

THE SLOT PULL

HOW DOES IT WORK? - Everyone who wants to participate will bring their $15.00 to the meeting spot. You will each get five (5) pulls on a dollar slot machine that utilizes $3.00/pull. The winning money will accumulate in the machine and that will be divided among the participants at the end of all pulls. The payoffs will be in even dollars.

The extra money above the even dollars will be awarded to the player who gets the group the highest amount on their slot pulls. Each person’s winnings will be recorded at the time of their pulls so we know who will get the side pot of the money after the even dollar pay-out.

WHEN WILL WE DO THIS? - We will meet XXXXXXXXX @ XXX on the starboard side of the casino Fiesta Deck 6 just outside the Casino. We will all go into the Casio together and start our play.

Payoffs will be handled immediately afterwards and handed out to all who joined in the Slot Pull.

· If you wish to participate' date=' please give me your name and cabin # in case there is any [u']change[/u] at all in the schedule and I can notify you. We need more people to make this lots of fun, so please join in. This is what I need for those who want to participate:

o Your names – first names only for each person who is going to participate.

o Your cabin # in case there is any change in plans and I can call and leave a message in your cabin

If you do not want to post that information here, you can email me at XXXXXXXX

By having this information in advance, I can make up a chart at home to track names the amount each person wins on their pulls.

I also have an Excel spread sheet that you can print in advance to track how much each person won for the group. If you will give me your email address, I will forward that spread sheet.

These are always great fun.

Hi Ann!

We would love to have your slot pull information! Thank you for being so generous to share!

Please send the information to cactuspair@cox.net .

Thanks so much!

Bruce and Shirley
