hutt Posted April 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Are there any "pet friendly" cruise lines around? Just wondering
firefly333 Posted April 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Not really. I think its the Queen Mary? that you can pay to take your pet along (in a cage, not in your cabin even), but none else allows pets. sorry
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Queen Mary has kennels for pets only on Transatlantic voyages. EM
kitty9 Posted April 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2011 And the pets aren't allowed to leave the kennel area. OP, how would a cruise ship handle a lot of pets? Where would they go to the bathroom? Who's supposed to clean it up? How could other passengers with allergies handle this? As you can see, there are too many problems that could not be addressed on a cruise ship. That's why pets aren't allowed.
paul929207 Posted April 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Only Cunard allows pets other than service animals. And I think that is only in the kennel area on transatlantics.
DukeFamily Posted April 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2011 Gawd -- the day cruise lines start letting people bring their darling yapping ankle biters is the day I STOP cruising!
Langley Cruisers Posted April 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2011 I remember when you had to put your pet in a carrier in the luggage hold of a plane. Now they can ride up front with you in your seats. Imagine those with allergies - must be horrendous for them. :(
Rare Keith1010 Posted April 3, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2011 Hutt, back to your question. The only cruise line that I am aware of that takes pets on board would be cunard with their dog kennel. By the way welcome to Cruise Critic. If you have questions on any other subjects be sure to ask. Keith
