cruiserjcp Posted April 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2011 Has anyone booked the Penthouse on the Nautica? If so what are the perks of booking this?:)
Rare LHT28 Posted April 28, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2011 The perks are listed on the website & in the brochure http://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships/nautica/staterooms/default.aspx Not sure what else you are looking for
doubledobles Posted April 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2011 We started in concierge and after booking a penthouse suite, never went back to concierge. The perks are the following: a butler, priority booking of specialty restaurants with 2 reservations per restaurant, priority boarding and a more spacious room. I'm sure I left out some other perks that other travelers will tell you about, but the ones I mentioned are the most important to us (and we have taken 20 cruises on Oceania and are booked for 4 more). ;);)
Jancruz Posted April 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2011 So what itinerary did you choose for your free cruise? doubledobles Posted April 28, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2011 We chose the Inaugural voyage of Marina and did a B2B with the Maiden voyage. Since the Innaugural was 18 days we paid for the extra days on board. Well woth it. It was fabulous!
gnld Posted April 29, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2011 Also note the Penthouse Suites are 50% larger than the standard balcony suites (they're wider) and, very importantly, have a decent-sized bathroom (with a tub)!
wripro Posted April 29, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2011 And therefore a 50% larger balcony.
gnld Posted April 30, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2011 And therefore a 50% larger balcony. And thus includes 2 chaise lounges + a small table, vs. 2 chairs + a small table.
wordsmith52 Posted May 3, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2011 We felt the penthouse was overrated. We got a butler who was not always available, had extra tipping added to our bill. The extra 2 nights on the lovely restaurants are nice but lots of food! The cabin is more spacious, nice linens. Not worth the price

Rare LHT28 Posted May 3, 2011 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2011 The extra 2 nights on the lovely restaurants are nice but lots of food! Another case of force feeding on Oceania!!! I will have to find another cruise line, I do not like the force feeding it causes my clothes to shrink!!! :p Lyn

wripro Posted May 3, 2011 #13 Share Posted May 3, 2011 NO, it's definitely the sea air that shrinks your clothes. To me a PH is worth every penny and more. The space, the butler all contribute to a much nicer cruise experience imo.

lovetocruise16 Posted May 6, 2011 #16 Share Posted May 6, 2011 We sailed on Regatta and Nautica in PH's, and have had them on each subsequent cruise. You will never regret the choice. They are lovely on the R ships, and even better on Marina.
