cruise kitty Posted June 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Hello hopefully someone can help me with this. I understand we will remove our shoes in our mosques, is it acceptable to wear socks? I will probably have on shoes without socks & would like to carry a bag for our shoes, but put socks on to wear in our mosque visits if this is not disrespectful. I'll be covering my head with a scarf, as this is what I'm comfortable with in any church/mosque/synagogue setting. thanks

6rugrats Posted June 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I highly recommend you wear socks; think of all the people who walk on that floor daily. Yuck.
bonsai3s Posted June 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I highly recommend you wear socks; think of all the people who walk on that floor daily. Yuck. We had the same thoughts...after removing our sandals (no socks) and started walking inside a mosque (Europe and Asia)...wow! you can feel the moisture...and yes, yuck. :)

cruise kitty Posted June 10, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Thanks everyone! I definitely will feel more comfortable with socks on... I always slip some on at the airport security check too, there's something creepy about all those bare feet!
