tink24 Posted August 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2011 OK. Need help fast. Is a Spa Suite for $740.00 more worth it? We already have a balcony on the Empress deck. Online you can book the same room for $800.00 more, but they take away our $150.00 OBC. Carnival rep said we can keep our OBC and any pay $740 more (which means we would be saving $210.00 off price listed online. I need to call back soon with answer. What would you do? There are 3 of us in the room - 2 adults and a 5 year old. Thanks!
Colorado Kat Posted August 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Does the spa suite entitle you to free spa services? Would you use them, since you have a 5 year old to supervise? I think I would stick with my balcony.
tink24 Posted August 2, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted August 2, 2011 We sailed in a Spa Balcony in 2009 and actually used the facilities a few times. It's also much easier to convince yourself to work out if the spa is only steps away. I really liked that the rooms are non-smoking. I guess I'm wondering if the extra space and priority check-in and debarkation are worth it. Do you also get priority tendering?
remharri Posted August 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2011 It's up to you, but when we were on the Splendor May 2010 we upgraded from a regular balcony to a Spa balcony for $300 more. Of course it's supply and demand. But thats just to give you an idea. Also, even though we upgraded to the Spa we DID receive the spa benefits. I really enjoyed the Spa cabin and would book again. kujobie Posted August 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2011 You could buy another cruise for that much. No way would I do it, but we don't use the spa much. If you do, it might be worth it.

okwriter Posted August 2, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Wouldn't be worth it to me, but I'm not a "spa" girl. Only thing I've used there is the free showers. :)
firefly333 Posted August 2, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I dont believe the 5 year old can go into the pay spa area with you. .. if that is a consideration. No you dont get priority tendering, just embark and debark.
golfadj Posted August 2, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Not for me, that money pays for half of our next cruise.

flyingaggie02 Posted August 2, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I don't think all the Spa rooms include spa treatments...I was on the SPA deck on Conquest a couple years ago and didn't get anything additional.
CRUISING71 Posted August 2, 2011 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I would stick with balcony on the Empress deck and use that extra money for a deposit on the next cruise. :p
dwayneb236 Posted August 2, 2011 #15 Share Posted August 2, 2011 That's a lot of money. I would personally stick with the balcony.

tink24 Posted August 2, 2011 Author #17 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Well, against all advice, my husband decided to go ahead and book the Spa Suite. His excuse was that he needs priority debarkation in order to make it home for a Fantasy Football draft that he is hosting at our house the day we get back. Apparently men will do some strange things when football is involved . I'll let you all know how it was when I get back.

That's because you were on a ship that does not have the Cloud 9 Spa cabins. You were only on a deck that happened to be called Spa Deck. No spa privledges on the ships with no Cloud 9 Spa. Op didn't say how long the cruise was, I guess my decision would be influenced by the length of the cruise.

kayakittyyak Posted August 3, 2011 #25 Share Posted August 3, 2011 http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/obx/cloud9-spa/default.aspx So it looks like you get private access to the spa and unlimited use and priority booking but don't really get free spa treatments. That would not sell me on it!
