Daghis Posted August 21, 2011 Author #52 Share Posted August 21, 2011 Have they changed your itin due to the tropical storm? We just found out that in order to skirt Irene and have good weather on our way to St. Thomas, we're going to skip Nassau tomorrow and head straight to St. Thomas. We may head to Nassau on Saturday, on our way back. We'll find out more about that later on. Anyway, we're heading out now! The Broward County Sherriff has been scooting other boats out of our way. I tried to find my Roll Call group's gathering spot to wave at the Port Everglades Web Cam, but I couldn't figure out where they were, so I'm hanging out with our friend on his balcony. Cruising Khi Posted August 21, 2011 #53 Share Posted August 21, 2011 My parents, grandparents, sister, and sister's boyfriend are all on this cruise. I'm so sad that I had to miss it! Hope you all have a great week and that the weather doesn't mess you up too much. (Personally, I'd be okay with skipping Naussau.)
cruiseturbo Posted August 21, 2011 #54 Share Posted August 21, 2011 Do you have Captain Zini or Captain Johnny? Who is your cruise director? I sail in two weeks and I think we will have Zini and Allan Brooks but not sure.

FL_Cruiser_519 Posted August 21, 2011 #57 Share Posted August 21, 2011 Thanks for the "Live Review". I just watched Allure leave port. Enjoy the week. Can you post some pictures of the connecting Promenade and Interior room? The Boss and I are taking our 2 girls on Oasis in May with that same setup. I am looking at 3 girls and 2 bathrooms. It sounds like I am at least one short. :D

That was some of the cruise critic group from the roll call. I watched and they were carrying the PEW banner. Looked like they were having fun:)

I'm curious to know if we will need to bring sweatshirts or pants or if the weather on deck and the islands is scorching hot!? Have a great time wherever you may go! Daghis Posted August 22, 2011 Author #68 Share Posted August 22, 2011 What a busy day it's been! Earlier, I felt rather exhausted and thought I'd need a nap, but as the evening went on, I perked up. (I'm a night person.) We had dinner in the Main Dining Room (My Time Dining) tonight. The food was quite decent and we all left satisfied. Part of me thought about going somewhere for a "second dinner", just because I could, but I refrained. :) After that, we spent some time wandering the ship. I stopped by the casino and spoke with J. J., the Casino Host, to talk about Club Royale. She told me that I'd need to earn 2,000 points on the card in order to qualify. We'll see whether that happens. We saw Chicago tonight. I have to say that I was disappointed... not in the quality of the show and the cast, but in the production itself. After seeing Hairspray last year with upbeat music, beautiful sets, and a lot of smiling actors, Chicago was kind of a let down. I'm glad I got a chance to see it, but I know that other shows I see later on this week will easily surpass it, in my opinion, of course. I spent a bit of time in Jazz on 4, as is my usual custom. The music was pleasant enough, but I didn't stick around for too long. More wandering around the ship, and now it's time for bed. Tomorrow we're going to try having breakfast in the MDR after seeing many positive recommendations here. Oh, and for the person that asked about the caramel frappuccino, I've tasked DH to check the Starbucks menu to find out. They do seem to have a fairly complete menu. Anyway, good night, everyone! See y'all tomorrow!
skrapngal Posted August 22, 2011 #69 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Hi Daghis!!! Am sailing along with you while awaiting my very first cruise in March. The one thing I have yet to see is a picture of the 12 in X 12 in Allure scrapbook, apparently on sale in the photo shop (not sure about that one). If you can find the time, I would love to see a picture. Thanks for taking the time for taking us along with you :D

So your back to Allure? Same Itinerary or the other one? We're going on the "other one." I'm really looking forward to getting to Labadee again - there have been so many changes since I was there in 2007 (to give perspective, they were just completing the zip line). We'll also be in Falmouth and Cozumel. My sister is getting married while we're in Jamaica - we're very excited for that too. :) Any thoughts about your next cruise? (timeframe, location, ship...) February 12, 2012 on Allure seems to be a GREAT one. :)

Daghis Posted August 22, 2011 Author #75 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Just wandering around the ship some this morning after having chocolate breakfast in the MDR. That was a surprise, especially since they gave me the wrong menu and I didn't realize they were featuring chocolate items! Anyway, here are a few random pictures I took this morning. I was used to seeing the alligator popping his head up out of the manhole by the Comedy Club on the Oasis of the Seas. These guys were in his place here on the Allure of the Seas. This dragon was part of the Dreamworks decorations for the upcoming "Move it! Move it!" parade. We've been hanging out a bit here... I like the sign, although I thought it was just called the "Champagne Bar". I didn't remember the "& Martini" part. Lastly, for those who may be interested in one of those sweet coffee drinks, this may be of interest:
