What brands of Beer on Norwegian

Supposedly this is the beer list from O'sheehans on the Epic

I live within two miles of three different craft breweries, two of which are extremely popular (Red Hook and Smuttynose). I also visit my brother in Colorado at least once a year which is a craft beer paradise. I've become a beer snob in the last couple of years so the selection on cruises has been disappointing. I try to get a local brew or two from each of the ports. On our last cruise out of Colon, RCI had Balboa, a Panamanian beer. Four for $10. Not anything spectacular by any means, but it was better than most of the selection and nothing else beat the price. Even the lights. Usually I'll settle for a Pilsner Urquell, Blue Moon or Foster's since the oil can is a decent deal.

 

Sign me up whenever the first craft beer lover's theme cruise is..

I am not a beer drinker and my husband drinks it seldomly...though I must say that when I do see him down one at home, he usually follows it up with a couple of more! Must be addictive!

 

We were at the Biergarten on the Spirit recently when they were just putting some lunch stuff out. The only other couple there was getting a draft beer which looked inviting and so we said we'll have the same.

 

Unfortunately. he said that was it...no more. He suggested a can of Fosters (HUGE..20-something ounces I think) and a couple of glasses. That filled the bill and was actually pretty darn good..neither one of us had ever had Fosters. The price was right too..$7.99 including the tip. It turned out to be just enough to wash down lunch!

Haha..sorry, just illustrating how hard it would be for me to have a Miller Lite.

 

I guess now is not a good time to mention Shipyard has a brewpub five miles away then?

I hear ya. Instead of Miller Lite, I drink the juice from a can of bad clams.

Shipyard works for me until I'm offered one of their Pumpkinheads. that was some icky stuff.

I really don't understand why the ships don't open up a craft brew bar like several of the bigger casinos in Vegas have done (like the Pour24 in the NYNY). There is a big market for this and you can charge higher prices for premium beer, like they do in Vegas. This would not only be a draw for their cruise, it should be a money maker.

There is a way to change things. You can call NCL, specifically the Guest Relations part of the corporate office. When I did so, the nice lady there listened sympathetically, and asked that I fax a complaint/request/suggestion to their office at 305-436-4108. She asked that I include a reservation number and a Latitudes number if possible. She said that a fax is the mechanism they use to route and consider such matters. My fax was sent weeks ago, and I even got a confirmation email.

 

I again suggest we bombard them with faxes and perhaps the situation will improve! We can continue to complain to ourselves on here, and hope that someone from NCL monitors the discussion. The real way to fix this is to fax NCL Guest Relations. :cool:

:) naww. I'm from the geographic center of the US-Kansas.

I live just a bit south of there now. There's just too much spice and sweetness in the Pumkinhead for me and my wife, whao also appreciates a lot of beers with the exception of hop-bombs. I enjoy handing her one of those for a taste.:p

She'll ask "will I like this?" I tell her "no, you're gonna hate it but you gotta tsate it".

Just off the Dawn Feb 5 and I checked out Pearly Kings. They DID have Strongbow.

Most of the other bars have Becks, Guinness, Dos Equis, Heineken, Amstel Light, etc for $4.95 plus tip. Red Stripe $1 more ( what?).

I tried to buy and drink beer ashore for $1.50 or $2. People sold it out of portable coolers. Best was Mackeson's Stout brewed in St Kitts.

Red Stripe will be included in our Around the World In Beer tour in about a week and half.

A year ago, Jamaica was the only country we visited twice.

Not sure, I never read the labels, but the bottles looked standard to me.

BTW I drank Red Stripe for $1.50 in the streets of Philipsburg St Maarten on a Sunday :)

Watch the prices - my son was drinking bottles of beer so I got him a litre tankard and poured the bottle in and it covered 1/3 of the glass for $5.95. So he started getting either the Fosters Olilcan (I wouldn't drink that stuff if someone paid me) or draught lager - to get monies worth. He is a teenager though on a waiver so isn't fussy
