The email I received was from Marina and Rahim introducing themselves. Marina has been my main contact. Maybe Rahim recently replaced Fernando. I will confirm when I return.

Diego Tripaldi was the concierge on Splendour before the drydock in Cadiz and is expecting to stay aboard for the South America season. He said that his language skills in Portuguese will come in handy.

 

As a Diamond Lounge is being added to the Splendour, he mentioned that a concierge for that lounge will be assigned.

Beth, Legend had a CL when we cruised on her in 2008 and I believe that Splendour did as well. However when the ships itineraries changed I believe that that space reverted to its previous identity as a card room. Exactly what the status of those CLs is at this time, I have to defer to anyone who has sailed on them more recently. The CLs were temporary situations which lacked plumbing that would allow the installation of coffee equipment. When we were on Legend, Diego was the concierge and he indicated that there were plans to move it to another location where there was access to plumbing. As is often the case, not all plans come to fruition. I do believe that when it undergoes the planned "revitalization" a permanent CL will be added to SP.

Splendour has had a concierge lounge for a long time at least since 2006. We were on the first sailing and then the next sailing they closed it because there was to many to handle on a crossing. Then once they got it back to Galveston is was opened again. Kenneth Boodoo was the concierge for the whole time it was in Galveston. He was great also. Hope to see him again really soon.

Oana Popa was the Diamond Concierge on the 11/5 sailing of Liberty.

 

And Francois was fine in the CL. He isn't the warmest Concierge we've encountered, but he did his job well and we all warmed up to each other in a day or so.
