We will be 4 in an outside cabin. What size luggage do you suggest we bring? 4 - 20" roll-on or 2 larger suitcases. Is there sufficient room to store the luggage and where? Thanks

About the only place you'll have to store luggage in a standard outside cabin will be under the beds.

Under the bed is the best place. Other choices are in the closet or a corner, However, the cabins are small and with four people there will not be much space.

Maybe you could take 2 large and 2 smaller suitcases -- and put the smaller suitcases inside the larger ones.

If they don't fit under the bed -- you cabin steward can store them for you. They will be brought back on the last full day of the cruise.

Are you talking four adults? If so, everything will be very tight. There will be precious little storage for everything for four adults. If it's two adults and two kids, you'll be fine.

Duffle style suitcases with wheels (regardless of size) work best, since they can be flattened down (when emptied) to fit under the bed.

I have never had any trouble storing our large and numerous suitcases under the bed. :)

While it would be a good idea for two full size and two slightly smaller cases that each might fit inside one of the larger cases, one trick for putting them under the bed is to leave the top unzipped and flopped open. We were on one cruise where the suitcases did not want to fit, but with the tops unzipped and open, they slid right under.

 

Some lines will gladly store your luggage, others will not.

Sometimes you have to slightly lift the bed frame to get the suitcases past that lip.

Either will work. We can usually get two/three suitcases under a twin size bed.

 

I think the better question is are you flying? and do have any luggage restrictions?

Exactly. Two suitcases for 4 people will surely exceed the weight limit and then you will be paying for your bare necessities. If you are lucky enough to have 1 free suitcase each, I absolutely recommend you do that.

I've never even thought about storing our luggage. I guess the 2 large suitcases we take have always slid right under the bed. There will also be some room in your closet depending on the size of your luggage.
