Has anyone's seen these port guides on **************.com? Pretty cool write ups on several popular ports. I only ask because I have been on the boards a while and I have never seen them mentioned.

Love his guides. I stumble upon them on the Europe boards. The Venice Guide is great, I'm taking his advice about the hotel we are staying one night before our cruise.:)

This site is amazing! We'll be using this for our Adriatic/Med cruise later this year. We're going several days early to spend time in Rome and Venice and Tom has just made planning a lot easier.

These are really great pax oriented port guides. I keep asking Tom for the ports I'm planning on visiting.

I just check out guidebooks from my library! They have them in the reference section...doesn't cost a penny, and you can make notes on what things interest you!

We still use them (they are old, so I use them as a starting point).

 

The good thing about them is they are geared for cruise passengers...The regular tour books are ok, but they are not geared for a quick day in port.

 

Toms are also geared (at least they lean that way) towards cheaper/do it yourself alternatives, especially regarding transportation in port.

 

We just used the guides 2 weeks ago on our British Isles cruise.

Tom's port guides were a big help when we were in Venice & the Greek Isles last fall. The guides have very detailed street maps, etc.
