New itineraries?

It would be nice to have a transatlantic from Brasil to Europe and from Europe to Brasil.

 

Transatlantics are repositoning cruises-if a cruise ship did summers in Europe and winters in South America, (your summer is our winter I guess-so I am speaking form my point of view) you would see that. I do know there is a RCI ship that does that-so you never know maybe eventually you will a Celebrity ship that alternates between the 2.

Which itineraries would you like to see Celebrity add? For me there are a few that would be interesting- The first would be a California coastal cruise (similar to the one offered by Princess that leaves LA and visits SF, Santa Monica, San Diego, Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico). As someone that's never been to CA that sounds perfect. Also I wish they would add an eastern (or south-eastern) US cruise that visits some of the historic ports including Charleston, as well as several Florida ports and perhaps the Bahamas (to avoid the Jones Act).

 

And another Princess itinerary that I would love to see Celebrity do is the Tahiti to Hawaii cruise.

 

 

I would like to see a cruise from the UK taking in Malta Instanbul and Cyprus!

I would like to see Celebrity cruise from Dubai to India , with stops in the Seychelles, Maldives, and maybe Sri Lanka. Something more exotic!

Also, smaller ports in europe like portofino, or more stops in the Adriatic or the black sea.

Love these above ideas. Like to do these places for the future. I would added more "indepth" areas and stops along the Croatian Coast, etc. Getting too "specialized" is harder for filling up larger ships such as the 2850-passenger Solstice-class cruises. The fall Montreal - Boston options sound good, too.

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Its Carole & Alan from the Solstice June 2011 cruise. Agree with you- would love to see overnight or late (after 10p) departures from Scandinavia +StPB(which is overnight). Would omit Berlin on this cruise -due to 6+/- hrs in transit from Warnemunde to have increased time in other ports. Would enjoy having dinner in ports and really exploring.

I did a little 4 day on NCL to the Bahamas in JULY-TOO HOT. (also too many young teens/pre teens and it was that age group that had bad behavior) Why go there and be miserable when I can be just as miserable at home. I feel going in the winter to get away from cold is just a better idea. Even in the spring and fall it can be miserably hot in the Caribbean. My friend just got back from San Juan and St. Thomas (she cruised late Feb./early March week) and she said it was very muggy. I guess she should not have been surprised as we have had a mild winter that felt more like spring. Atlanta, Georgia felt more like Orlando Florida this winter, so of course it would be warmer in the Caribbean also.

We went to Turk and Caicos on HAL in early April 2008 and it was miserably hot there. Grand Cayman was not quite so bad but still very hot.

 

We also did a southern Caribbean cruise in late September one year and that was also miserably hot. Now we like to go between Nov. and Feb., if possible.

Hi, again, Carole & Alan!! Yes, overnights can worke super well as we so much enjoyed in Venice. That was a magical sail-in and evening there. Not all ports and cities, however, work as well for overnights or being there that late into the evening. My sense from our 2008 stop in Copenhagen (when we were there until midnight) and Bergen in 2010 when there until 11 pm was that not many folks did things there in the evenings. Some did, but most didn't. Many get "tired out" from their day in port, all of the walking around, standing, etc. Or, many don't want to pay extra to eat on shore they have their "free" meal on the ship. I'm sure the cruise people have done research on these ideas and options. Great idea, but, I don't know what their in-depth customer research shows. To bring back memories, here are a few below from our great Venice experience last June.

With the Solstice schedule, having an overnight there allows time to sample the evening orchestras on San Marco Square playing to the crowds. Great fun at night in a wonderful setting.:

 

 

 

It was a full moon for our evening in Venice. Here is that view of the moon as we walked at night past the Doge’s Palace. At night, you want to hang out in and around San Marco Square to hear the various orchestras playing, see people enjoying, etc.:

 

 

 

Don’t miss the Solstice sail-in for Venice. This was our view from the top of the ship as we approached the historic center of Venice. On a beautiful day, as we enjoyed, this is so spectacular!!!:

 

 

 

As we sailed in, here is one of the churches we saw along the Giudecca canal after passing San Marco Piazza. It is the Santa Maria del Rosario or St Mary of the Rosary. It is commonly known as I Gesuati and is an 18th century Dominican church in the Dorsoduro. The Dominicans built to celebrate the glories of their order and to encourage devotion to the rosary. Built in a classical style with Rococo decoration, it is exceptional preserved in its original form and with key decoration intact. The architecture and almost all the sculpture and paintings were created within the same thirty year between starting in 1725 and consecrated in 1743. To support the weight of the facade, 270 piles had to be driven into the soil. Giant Corinthian pillars support a heavy triangular pediment. The main entrance door is surmounted by a curved pediment, is surrounded by four niches with large statues of the four cardinal virtues of Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance. The smaller, white stone-faced church that is shown on the left is Sta Maria della Visitazione that goes back its construction starting in 1493.:

I’m still waiting for someone to do Hawaii round trip all year so that teachers can take this cruise. Or at least offer it a couple of times during the summer. It is so hard to have those 15 days fall during one of the breaks.

Is this true? I got an Azamara brochure in the mail that had an itinerary of Southampton to Amsterdam, with stops in Wales, Ireland, & Scotland. Azamara is a bit too pricey for us, but we'd love a Celebrity cruise like that! Where can I research the future Infinity itins.?

1. Black Sea - with stops in Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Georgia

2. Transatlantic - with stops in Iceland and Greenland

3. Med to Middle East - with stops in Croatia (Dubrovnik), Oman (Muscat) and Dubai

4. Repositioning - Peru (Callo, Lima) to UK / UK to Peru (Callo, Lima)

5. Around Africa - with stops on East Coast Africa, plus Mauritius and Madagascar

6. Far East - with stops in Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and Cambodia
