IE and useless info 2

We were lucky when we tendered. It was a beautiful day and we caught the train to Nice. Got back early afternoon and tendered back, then the sea went mad and got really rough. The tender after us struggled to get alongside the ship and disembark the passengers, quite scary for them. The ship moved away into calmer waters and the tenders were stopped, leaving passengers stranded ashore for over an hour.

Jan

The first time we went to Villefranche was on the Ocean Village and it was the same. Fine going over to shore but really rough going back. A man and his little girl sitting by the door were soaked. I was glad to get back on the ship. We watched them trying to reload the life boats and one of the crew fell off the lifeboat into the sea! Luckily they managed to rescue him and the captain came on the PA system to tell us he was OK. Eventually they had to turn the ship to make a windbreak and were then able to reload the lifeboats.

It was my first experience of tender boats, so made me a bit wary of them, but so far, none have been so bad

Quiet on here ain't it :D;)

I pop in a few times a week but it's usually around midnight just after we get in from feeding the tourists as jenywren said. Only 8 weeks left till we shut up shop for the winter.

Hope everyone else is ok :):)

Hi, going on first cruise soon on the IE, very excited. Have a few questions I hope someone can answer.

Does anyone have any info or experience with the onboard spa? Prices, treatments, worth it?

Can anyone tell me what sort of games are in the casino?

And this is very important - is the coffee any good?

thanks

The IE expert here... Ok I have been on it once before... No idea about the spa... The casino is very small with the odd Blackjack table but a good range of older slots that take tokens from a change machine or the cashier’s desk (Though the manager said to us last October that they were going over to a cashless system at sometime in the future) .... There is a Costa Coffee franchise at the cafe Brazil, but we found the free everyday self service coffee in the Beachcomber to be variable (from OK to Yuk). So we will be taking a few of our own instant coffee sachets & most importantly our own plastic teaspoons as I can't get on with those rubbish stirring sticks. I think the free coffee in the Island restaurant was served by waiters & was OK, but did not eat there much as preferred the extra space in the Beachcomber.

Too bad about the coffee.:( Don't really like Costa either. I'll have to see if I have some room in my luggage altho can probably get some decent stuff along the way. I take it there is some facility for hot water - ask for it or self serve?

Hmm good news I think on the casino as I prefer slots, if I ever get to venture in.

thanks for the info!

Spa is good, like most good spa's they will try and ell you the products after your treatments. Especially as the workers get time off for hitting targets and selling products(as most cosmetic workers do,on or off ship) Ann-Sofia is amazing , really knows her stuff. Prices are about average

Hope this helps

Taken off the Island chat daily paper, these are just a few that I picked out to give a rough idea.
