I will be on HAL Eurodam tomorrow for a charity lunch...all money goes to this kid's charity (local)

We board at 10:30....have a lunch, then off to the theater for a :show: then they kick us off boo hoo at 2 PM

we do get to see the public areas of the ship which should be fun

I am looking forward to it...I will probably want to stowaway LOL

(Yes, I live in Ft Lauderdale)

Enjoy!

We were able to enjoy a Mariner's Lunch onboard the Eurodam on her first call to New York City. We did not see a show but they had a presentation in the show lounge and then we had some free time to wander and explore.

Have fun. These luncheons are not unusual and HAL often sponsors them as they are a very philantropic company. Actually, we were b-to-b on Eurodam last year and on turnaround day, there was a charity luncheon on the ship.

Have fun..... She's a beautiful ship. Should be a lovely luncheon.

When Eurodam was brand new, she had a port call in Boston and we were able to visit. We loved being able to view the ship and the visit was great. :) We saw crew friends we knew were working aboard and we had a great day.

Hi this turned out to be really nice.....we were greeted by the leaders of the charity, and put in a security line, purse thru xray then we were given "guest' clip on ids....

taken upstairs to sit and wait then at about 11 am we "boarded", they "dinged" our little pass (code) just as they would a sign and sail

we entered on deck 2 and went right to the Rembrant Dining room which was lovely

they had silent auction set up there too and some raffles

we were seated with my friend at "her" table, all really nice, cute little programs and goodies

Lunch menus were quickly brought out with ice water...and wine/white/red and /or mimosas

we had ....nice bread and butter

grilled scallop and greens/salad

really good chilled cherry soup

choice of some sort of cod, or lamb chops or ? a squash dish (vegetarian)

then a napolean for dessert and plate of little sweets

and coffee or decaf or tea

and some more wine haha

waiters were very nice, efficient and the food was good, soup was yummy, my lamb chops were great...the gals who ordered the cod were not real thrilled tho, a bit bland

Then we walked to the front of the ship to the theater where they had some musicians for us, and the auctions etc

My friends and I all are "cruisers" ...and ....lol...very bad...

we left the theater and took a short tour (unguided) of the ship which was much more fun

Saw the buffet, the casino *(already smoky, as was the casino bar, yuck)

saw the piano bar which was nice and intimate, saw some lovely display cases of ship models, antiques, dutch ? things I guess

Up to lido...buffet was pretty crowded but moving along, looked like some good food, went out to the pool, they had a band playing, people were already in the hot tubs

Saw the cabanas....which I guess are extra?

went to the "aft" pool area which I really liked...would be "my" choice if I was sailing on her....I liked the seating out there, bring your food out and enjoy

saw the spa, thermal pool...really nice (but extra charge?)

went in the disco, small but pretty

saw the culinary demonstraions? room...and internet room....cool

walked by the shops....heavy on jewelry I think

Very classy ship IMHO, really nice

One thing I was (personally) not that fond of the theater....t

The sight lines were good however but I prefer the Carnival style theater with little tables and more leg room

he seats were not comfortable and in fact 2 of my friends had some seat troubles, one seat was def "broken" (slanted down) and another was sort of broken : the seat did not go down all the way if that makes sense?? I think the "theater" style of them may get some wear and tear

we went back to the "show" and then....worst thing....they made us get off haha

It was fun to experience the "excitment" of boarding day...even tho we were only there for a few hours....just wished we could have stowed away! Thanks HAL for a nice day and a nice way they helped Lifesavers for Children today

HI...yes we paid $50 which went to the charity and they had various silent auctions and a raffle

here was the event :)

Really cute touch....each of us had a nice program of the event, a cute little placecard with anchor etc with our name

and a roll of "lifesavers" candy wrapped in their logo (ie, "lifesavers" for Children):D

My 3 day cruise on Eurodam for her inaugural NYC stop was one of my best cruises ever. We had a huge Meet and Greet, a wonderful send off of waterworks display by the NYC fireboats, a dip down sail away by the escort planes, and everything was perfect, including a lunch and dinner in Tamarind. We packed a lot into 3 days. Glad you got to see the ship.
