elgato2 Posted March 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Okay..we've been on many cruises..and Just My Opinion: Carnival has the BEST price points and is the BEST value for the $! Maybe some are more luxurious..maybe some have a little better food or are more elegant... BUT... I just made some calls regarding a cruise we recently booked. I spoke to the most friendly, helpful people re: two different concerns..one was a price reduction..one was casino credit. We have consistently had great experiences with CCL from the organization at embarkation through to debark and in between. Customer service is still #1 in my book... I will always choose CCL over other lines!

These boards have become so negative about every single thing that it is getting to the point that no good information is being shared; just constant complaining - so thanks for some positive comments! Ditchdoctor Posted March 22, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 22, 2012 My wife and I have only been of 5 cruises, our 6th will be at the end of April and they have all been on Carnival. We have always had a great time. Unless something unforseen happens we will always stay with Carnival. Our PVP, the people at the port when we board and the employees on the ship have always been super!!!
Harrier1961 Posted March 22, 2012 #10 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Going on my 8th cruise in 1 month; all have been on Carnival. While I do wish to try other lines, for the moment Carnival is a pretty good fit for us. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Andy :D
cruisenanny Posted March 22, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Yep, I would agree with you. While they aren't our FAVORITE line, there is no denying they are a decent cruise for the $ compared to some other lines. We have had three "good overall" experiences with them and one "great overall" experience with them. I'm not complaining:)
Oskial Posted March 22, 2012 #12 Share Posted March 22, 2012 I guess ignorance is bliss because we just got off the Legend for our first cruise and we didn't have anything but high praise for everything from the time we came on board to the end of the cruise. This isn't a negative, but the only thing I could find that wasn't great.............never mind. It isn't even worth mentioning.
Aplmac Posted March 22, 2012 #13 Share Posted March 22, 2012 elgato2 and tammi0916 - I totally agree with you both. :) Thousands of people agree with us all! This is what makes Carnival Cruises the number 1 success story in cruising mainly because it delivers decent bang for your buck. :) It's cruising for the un-pretentious, for the average guy who doesn't want to shell out extra cash ..for what? Silver cutlery? Waiters in white gloves? Come on: who needs that? .
jjfromsd Posted March 22, 2012 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2012 I have sailed HAL three times and have enjoyed all cruises. I just returned from a cruise aboard the Carnival Spirit last week and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. This cruise took fun and enjoyment to stratospheric levels. Guess I enjoyed Carnival so much that I decided to book another cruise with them in May. Thanks elgato2 for starting this thread. Smooth sailings to all. pe4all Posted March 22, 2012 #17 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Wal-mart also has the best price point and value for the money. Coincidence? This started out as such a nice thread. Why does someone always have to poop in the pool? We also have never had a bad cruise on CCL. CCL is a great fit for us now, and we can afford to cruise any line we want to. elcuchio24 Posted March 22, 2012 #18 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Yep, I think their bread and butter is as a value line, nothing wrong with that. They try to give the most bang for the buck. As long as that is your expectation, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Is that not also part of the reason for this board? Or should the critic part be taken out and replaced with cheerleading? One should never forget that there are two wings on every bird. With the good comes the bad. If you do not like reading negative things, or only want to see postive things about cruising then you can skip over the threads that you do not like. Good points and I pretty much agree I don't feel I have to be "loyal" to any one cruiseline...price, ports do matter.....BUT Carnival is consistently good Some people come in with a totally unrealistic expectation and that often means they will not be satisfied no matter what I do find that cruises...all cruises...have changed over the years...but Carnival provides a good time, good service, good food and good price I have only had one cruise that was just "fair to bad" and one that was "bad to horrible" and both were on my least favorite ship the soon to be revamped Destiny lol....hey I would give it a chance as Sunshine maybe The rest of my Carnival cruises have been great...I especially love Glory, Imagination and loved Liberty even before her 2.0 additions
Relayer Posted March 22, 2012 #23 Share Posted March 22, 2012 We just returned from our 10th Carnival cruise combined and this last one the Miracle. Just another very nice experience all around. Food, service, friendly crew, great ports all at a very good price. Our first two cruises were with Disney and certainly we enjoyed them. They got us totally hooked on cruising. We have not done a true land vacation since. We have not ventured out to the other lines because there just hasn't been a reason to. Never a complaint here with Carnival. When you look at the prices of the other similar lines it just confirms the solid vacation value the Carnival delivers.

gryffynsgirl Posted March 22, 2012 #25 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Have only been on 3 cruises so far (hoping to improve that # in the near future), all Carnival. Least favorite was on Sensation, just did not care for that ship, but that did not ruin my cruise or my Carnival experience. Anyway, I read the reviews and for the most part it seems as tho RCCL cruisers are loyal and devoted and same for CCL. I do not see myself switching from CCL any time soon. I tried to book a cruise w/RCCL for my kids' graduation in 2010 (yes, TWO graduated at the same time and NO they are not twins) and didn't even get good customer service w/my inquiries over the phone. Was completely turned off. We went on the Dream, had a most excellent time and can't wait to go again. Kinda spoiled living so close to Port Canaveral. That limits my ship availability (Dream or Sensation and I've covered that already) so I will have to travel to a different port soon. Love Carnival and will stay w/them, tho I do wish to experience other.
